Hi,
Usually, this time of the year, I would be baking on weekends......several types of Cookies, cheesecakes etc. and making holiday treats like chocolate dipped pretzels and home made chex mix. This year, I am not doing any of it. Having those foods in my house would not be good! They would be hard for me to resist or to limit myself to a small serving.
I feel bad about this however. My family is very supportive but I know my daughter misses the treats. She is almost 18 so she understands. But I have that "mom guilt" going on right now. Also, my 80 year old father lives with me---and I am sure he will be wondering where his butter cookies are.....but again, he is very supportive and understands.
I am sticking to my guns because this is too important to me. But it still isn't easy. I am sending my daughter to my brother's to bake cookies with his family.
There really isn't much purpose of this post other than to talk about one of my big challenges this holiday season.
