I would love to hear from others too. I have PCOS too and have been trying for 16 years. My Dr's have told me to lose 50 lbs and I should get pregnant. So...... Im hoping to get to goal before I try. But I would like to know if anyone else has had luck.

I know there's a sub forum here for women with PCOS but it's pretty quiet. If I was helpful at all, I would have grabbed the link to it before posting..but I didn't. :blushing:

I've heard that a lot of women with PCOS, once they drop some weight, have better luck conceiving. It happened to me on one of my 100lb losses before.

I am in the same boat as you, although I work in the medical field and I see alot of this type of thing. patients lose weight and they get pregnant like nothing was ever wrong with them. My husband didn't support me in the surgery until he new it safe to have children after the 2 year mark with the band. This is one of the main reasons I am having the band put in because not only do I want to get pregnant but I want a healthy pregnancy when I get to that point. I have my surgery on the 8th of December

this is a link to a blog for a woman who had a baby after surgery. i don't think she had issues with PCOS but it was insitful to read her journey to this point after the baby is here. although it is a very quite blog these days, here journey is still there to read.

Just to give you some strength -- I have PCOS. I just got banded, but my understanding is that once you get your eggs to pop out, you should be able to get pregnant. I did IVF and got pregnant on the first cycle. Just needed the eggs to pop out :) Good luck!

My SIL and I are both Banded PCOS ladies. I have adopted in my time and do not plan on having any more but my SIL just gave birth to her first child this past month. She lost around 90 pounds and dicovered that she was finally going to have a baby. Keep faith it can happen.

I have PCOS and with my band I have lost 175 lbs. I am 2.5 years post, ans I am 19 weeks pregnant. I had so many failed pregnancy's and trouble with my periods. My DR's told me that it just would not happen for my husband and I. But here I am 19 weeks with a healthy pregnancy. Don't loose hope. Loose the weight and before you know it, a baby. Good fortune to all of you hopeful mommies out there.

I too have PCOS...and ever darn symptom that comes with the wonderful disorder. Although I had miscarriages, you will be happy to know that I have two beautiful boys. Stay positive...anything is possible!

My best to you.

I had my band baby October 22, 2010. It took me like two or three cycles to get pregnant. I'm willing to share more if anyone is interested :o)

I have PCOS also. My doctor said that this is the quickest way to reverse the effects of PCOS on the body and she also said band babies are VERY very common. I wish you lots of luck. I have surgery on the 6th of Jan so I'm also waiting to see what happens with the other effects the PCOS has given me besides cycle issues.

I have PCOS, but I wasn't banded until after I'd had my children. I was blessed with a son almost 9 years ago, while on the birth control pill. My doctor decided the pill actually straightened out my hormones. Ha. My daughter was a bit harder. Surgery, medications, charting, timed sex. Blah.

I can say that my cycle has been slightly better since I've lost a little.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
