I am so going to miss...

Recommended Posts

...baby spinach. Since my last fill I can eat eggs and salad...barely. I have to take small bites, chew thoroughly and then wait until it 'settles'. Yesterday, my band went tight on me. Probably because I was scheduled for a fill today. Being cautious and not wanting another overfill, I cancelled the fill. Today it's worse. My eggs at Breakfast were a no go and now my baby spinach salad is sitting here laughing at me!

could you try saute'ing the spinach? I love spinach & mushrooms thrown in the skillet and heated until they're wilted....

I can't eat eggs either- I miss them too. I tolerate cooked spinach with no problem, I cook it with some olive oil spray and garlic. Best wishes!

Maybe you could try egg beaters. . . I personally love them especially the southwest. Easy to make in the morning.

I will have my first fill on November 30th and can still eat eggs, but I have seen so many people post about not being able to eat them. I so enjoy my scrambled egg every morning. Why do people have such a hard time with eggs? it just seems like that would be one of the easier things to eat. :)

I must be extremely lucky because I don't miss anything. I'm able to tolerate anything (and I like it that way). I still have restriction, but I can even eat a pancake in the morning if hubby makes me one (yes, only one). I've been too tight and it's not fun.

At times I compare myself to other bandsters I know near me and think I should get a touch of a fill, but I like the fact that I can eat "normal" and by that I mean anything, and haven't pb'ed since Memorial Day.

But I guess normal is what you want it to be and what you're willing to live with or without. There was a time when having some foods too difficult to eat was easier for me to lose weight since they were off limits.

My physician's office has recommended on their message board to keep it as loose as possible yet still have restriction in order to avoid having problems with dilation or slippage. I guess I've also subscribed to that notion so I can keep this band in me for a long, long time.

Count me as a fortunate one. And good luck to all on your journey.

Emjay,

You are indeed fortunate! At this point in time I can still eat as much as I want. Most days since my last fill I am content, but there are some days when I'm not and have to struggle not to keep on eating. If I get filled to the point where I actually have to stop eating after 1 cup of food, then I'm too tight and almost everything gets stuck.

Totally agree with the above.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
