The blood type diet

Recommended Posts

Is anyone on this one?

At first I thought it was a load of poopie until they described my bloodtype as 'slightly lactose intollerant, builds muscle and needs protein' and all of the foods I'm meant to be eating to stay slim are the ones I hate! Ironically, the ones I love so much are the ones I'm not meant to be eating.

It describes my eating habbits and the reason I'm so overweight (though obviously it's not the whole reason I'm overweight...I'm aware of that lol).

I'm still not 100% convinced, but I do know of a lady who lost 40 kilos on it and her daughter lost 33 who swear by it.

One of the big issues for me is that the foods I'm meant to eat are a lot of meat (which I hate) and things that are high in Protein (which often come with a lot of fat).

Anyone been on this? Has it worked for you? What's your blood type? Do you think it's poopie? Let me know :frown:

I've never heard of this diet before. I just read up on my blood type. Pretty creative. Not sure I believe all of it, since it seems like most any of the recommendations will work for weight loss, regardless of the blood type. Maybe the AMOUNT of weight lost would be more based on the blood type? Not sure how to think about it. I think I need more research... :frown:

It's just another diet. Totally unscientific. You should not need to "go on a diet" now you have a band. The aim is to eat healthy foods in smaller portions and cut out the crap!

If you need help speak to the dietician at your surgeons practice.

Having said that you will find that a lot of people here are on a low carb diet which is similar to what you are describing.

The basic principle that you need to stick to is to do your shopping from the outside section of the supermarket and skip the aisles in the middle. Around the outside you will find the healthier unprocessed foods such as meat, dairy, fruit and veg etc. These are what should make up the bulk of your diet. The inside aisles have all the processed rubbish that we really don't need. (Yes there are some exceptions - tinned tuna, pulses etc are usually found in the middle somewhere).

There is absolutely no basis in science for the recommendations made by this gimmicky diet. Will it work? Sure, almost anything that restricts what you eat will.

With a band, though, I don't quite see the point. Your eating is already restricted, kwim? Make sure that most of the foods you eat offer your body nutrients it needs, and you'll be a-okay.

I think the whole thing is really interesting, but I wouldn't want to go onto that diet anyway because the food is crap.

I've heard all of the bullcrap diets lol.

A lady at aqua aerobics the other day said this, "It's better to exercise on a empty stomach. Your body takes energy from your left over fat rather than the food in your stomach!".

I didn't quite know what to say. I just smiled and said, "wow, that's very interesting".

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
