Vitamins, Calcium, and B12?

Recommended Posts

I was just banded this week so I'm not having problems taking any of my supplements & prescription meds right now. My fear is the Omega 3 supplements after my 1st fill...they are huge! I HATE the taste so I rather not chew or take a liquid...yuck! Any suggestions?

Not sure if you have Vitamin Shoppe where you are, but I have been buying "Carlson's" brand of liquid Omega-3, its lemon flavored. I do not like taking it alone but have been mixing in a berry flavored yogurt and its not bad.

I just recently bought some more Vitamins (store-brand gummy) after not taking them for awhile. They are better tasting than the ones I used when I first had the band. I did notice that they have a little Biotin in them, which I think I need to start getting some of. I also have packets of Emergen-C that I take about every other day or when I remember to. It helps me feel like I'm getting more of what I need.

B12 can only be found in animal meat Proteins. Vegetarians, vegans, and anyone else not eating animal muscles will become deficient in B12.

That's why you should take it. Sublinguals are the tastiest option.

Calcium because you won't absorb it the same way and you may become deficient unless you're drinking enough milk. I personally never drink mill so a supplement is required. But make sure it's calcium citrate (different stomach receptors).

Iron may also be required for women.

B1 is often recommended for the first six months as you won't eat enough to get it naturally.

Biotin will strengthen your hair and nails.

You'll be taking a multi

Vitamin D is also highly recommended as few people get enough.

You'll be taking a multi, B12 (unless you eat a lot of meat), calcium, and Iron the rest of your life so find one's you like. AmericaRx.com and VitaminShoppe.com have great sublingual and chewable selections.

I get a B12 shot monthly and have started taking Centrum liquid daily. I can tell a big difference in my energy levels and how I feel. =)

I take the Kirkland Children's Vitamin A whole one is adult strength (children take half of one). I also take chewable Caltratte 600+ D which has zinc that's not in the multi. I have been loosing hair so I'v added Bioten. I also take 2 Fiber gummies. Flavor does'nt bother me; but I did'nt get this fat being a picky eater.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
