3 weeks post op

Recommended Posts

Hi Monica, I am almost 3 weeks out, I have some soreness at the port sight. I have pretty much healed at the incision places, sometimes itchy. As far as eating goes, My Dr. released me from the mushy stage as long as I eat slowly and chew well. Of course I dont eat any spicy foods, I watch the calories and try to stay around 1000 per day. I like to sleep alot, so I guess you can say my energy is still down. I try to go to bed and get 6 hrs of sleep, get up a little and then go back to sleep about another hour and 1/2. Im walking around ok, I have hunger! I still eat small portions. I dont want any pain so I really pay attention when I eat. Drink a lot of Water also. How is it going for you?

Hi Monica, Keep in mind that everyone heals differently and always follow your doctor's instructions, with that said, here goes. My doctor is very strict, he had me on Optifast for two weeks prior to surgery, then post-surgery Clear Liquids for two more weeks, I'm finally on full liquids for the next week and a half. He is going to let me start real food on x-mas eve. Thank you, thank you, thank you doctor. My energy is not quite back to normal. I have started walking a mile a day, but I would not break any speed records. My port sight is still sore, but is healing nicely. My appt. for my first fill is on Jan. 5th. If you have any more questions just PM me. Take care

I am feeling absolutely fine. I have all my energy, I am working full time, and I feel like nothing has even been done to me. No port pain, my incisions have healed. I was told to do full liquids on day 2 after surgery and I was on full liquids for 2 weeks. I am supposed to be on mushy food now, but I'm pushing "mushy" a little--had soft chicken last night with no problem. The only thing I am still having is moderate left shoulder pain from time to time.

I just wanted to know what you all are going through. I guess we never get over wanting to feel "normal".

Thanks for your stories!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
