Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

Recommended Posts

So today is my 18 month anniversary...I'm almost 70 lb down from my heaviest weight. Finally got off my plateau! Then comes the bad news...I saw a new surgeon last week (my other doc kept attributing my nausea/vomiting/reflux to seasonal allergies...so I went for a 2nd opinion). She took 1.5cc out of my band and sent me for an xray to check placement. It seems my band is tilted, she says this can indicate a slip or a dilated esophagus. So now that I finally got off my plateau, I may be looking at a complete unfill, and having to start this mess all over again. Just hoping that I don't end up having to have a 2nd surgery. So...lesson learned. If you are having problems of any kind...don't take "just take a clairitin or a zyrtec" as a solution. Such a bogus solution to a real problem!!!

wow pooky, I'm so sorry, you've been through so much with your thyroid etc, and now this. 70 lbs, that's great! congrats. I had an issue recently, I got a blind fill- .5, I felt tight, which is often the case, and i wasn't eating much, but I was getting down solids - just had to be careful, then about two weeks later I was puking, and had really super intense heart burn, through this episode I lost like 10 lbs in a week, I went in and they took out 1cc, I am fine now, but I put on that 10 lbs real quick. I might go back and get .5 cc in - He said I was probably just fine, but then I irritated things, we'll see, I always have a naggin idea that I might have slipped or something. I hope things go ok and you don't have to have a total unfill. Good idea getting a second opinion. I'll be thinking of you.

No slippage or prolapse! Just mild acid reflux. Nothing a Prevacid a day can't cure. God is good!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
