One Day Post-Op Problems

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I am one day post-op and I have already had a mental breakdown. I am normally a strong individual and right now I feel like crap. I can't bend or turn how I normally used to do I can't even sleep in my own bed because I just can't get comfortable. I also want to start eating solid foods even though I know I shouldn't. I'm sorry just ranting... Has anyone else gone through anything like this?

By day 3, seriously, you will be so much better. By night 2, I was much more comfortable in my bed. Take your pain meds and hang on.... it will get better quickly.

AND DO NOT EAT food - do not advance your diet. You could hurt yourself. You are very swollen and you do not want a slipped band. STAY THE COURSE - you can do it!

Your not alone. They pain goes away. Keep walking. You may want food but you wouldn't be happy if you ate it. Stick to liquids and SF popcicle , Jello.

Give your self a break.

Thanks! I guess with also being on my cycle every emotion is hitting at once. I am just glad to know I am not alone going through this. I just get jealous of my fiance when he has some delicious smelling food and all I have is Tomato Soup.< /p>

Don't worry most of us go through it. I consider myself mentally strong to. Even after the evaluation, he said I am above normal. What ever that means. lol But for 2 days after I was depressed and wanted it out. Finding this site is what helped me to know I wasn't the only one and I had "friends" out there going through it with me.

When you can move to full liquids (tomato) Soup try adding Mrs Dash (no salt) chicken flavor seasoning. When you heat it up the spices reconstitute and it tastes great! My favorite soup was Pacific Brand Organic Tomato/Sweet Red Pepper Soup.

It took me two full weeks to decide I hadn't made a horrible mistake. It will get better, but for me it took longer to recover and longer to feel ok.

I am also 2 weeks post-op and feeling great.

I am just freaked out about the weight I might gain waiting for my first fill. My appetite is back and trying not to eat much.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
