Perfect Surgeon.I'm a Band over Bypass. Had the bypass 9 yrs ago. Lost 100 gained back after honeymoon 40.I'm looking for advise on how to keep from over eating. We have the band tightened in front of xray. Its tight.I still can and do eat too much. My loss in under 5 lbs. The Dr. showed me how after all these yrs my esophagus had stretched. So, the way I understand it is after the pouch is full the food then loads into the esp.I guess I could have no pouch and still have a problem. Can other members share their experiences. Thanks

To be successful your going to have to make the decisions to eat healthy and monitor Portion Control. Drink Water when hungry, exercise, walk. WLS is a tool, not a miracle.

It seems to me the band is a tool ONLY when it provides some restriction. When it is not providing restriction, it is up to your sheer will and determination to lose weight.

I think it might be good to be gentle with yourself and really refocus. You didn't go through two surgeries to end up gaining back the weight you worked hard at losing.

I certainly don't think you were suggesting that you thought the band was going to be a miracle. You're clearly not afraid to work hard at losing - you've lost 100 pounds before. I hope your doc can help find a way to get you some restriction and put that tool to work.

Best wishes,

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
