My doctor told me that I could drive once I was off of the prescribed pain medication and was able to comfortably operate the car without any pain.

I took the prescribed pain meds for 2 days and drove at 3 days after surgery.....no problems.

Good luck to you!

My paperwork said to wait one week but I drove the morning after my surgery. I had a lot of things to do. I was a little sore but I was fine.

i went off my meds on the fourth day and drove on the fifth. it actually turned out to be a very long day for me. be sure you've got your "meals" planned for the day. i was very glad to be home at the end of the day and actually took some more meds and didn't drive again for a couple of days.

My doctor said I could drive after 3 days. I didn't drive until way after that, but only because I don't like to drive. Since I wasn't working, the only places I went dh was with me so he drove.

Thank you so much for all the posts; I plan on driving if I need to go somewhere... won't be no 1-2 hour trip right away but around town for sure.

Have a great day!

Just watch out for speedbumps!! Even when I went slowly I was in pain even a couple of months out - the only time I felt pain after surgery.

I was fortunate to have someone drive me for almost a week after surgery and since I found myself protecting my stomach when we braked and accellerated, I'm glad I did.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
