Help.... What are the effects of a Slipped Band

Recommended Posts

Okay so very weird, I had a fill the end of July, and the last few weeks the band has gotten tighter i think, right after my fill i was able to eat and now popsciles are comming up. I am going to call my doctor tomorrow and see if i can get a slight unfill as i think i am too tight, i had this before. I am a year out had my surgery in July 2009. My question is how would i know if my band has slipped? I have been voimiting alot the last two weeks and am so scared that my band has slipped, my throat hurts from the voimting, but wouldnt i have alot of issues, like heartburn reflux if the band was detacted, its been attached there for a year i dont see how two weeks to a week would make a difference. ANy help you could give would be great. Thank you

I was banned also July 09, I had the same problem about May of this year, I was thinking the same that the band had slipped. I had something stuck in the band. The Dr. did a unfill I drink Water and then he put back in 1/4 less fill. I did a swallow test this month and he said everything looks great. I am down 94 pounds.

Sounds like you are just too tight. I would go in for an unfill. The sign of slipage is not being able to keep down evern Water. However, since you just had a fill I would bet that's what it is. Good luck!

This exact thing just happened to me. I had no problem for a year and suddenly my band was too tight and I thought I had a slip. Doctor took out .4cc yesterday and I feel fine. He wants me to wait a month for a fill to make sure the inflammation is gone... I don't like being this loose. I have lost 93 pounds and only have 7 to go...hopefully this does not stall my progress!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
