Did anyone get pregnant after lap band

Recommended Posts

So, I'm 31 married black woman ...lol and my mom is hounding me about having kids...I want some babies, but I'm still to big (in my opinion). I've been infertile for years and had a miscarrage 1 year ago today.

Just wondering if you were faced with infertility and then had the band surgery and ended up getting pregnant...

So far, for me, no. However, I have old eggs (officially called diminished ovarian reserve). Unless a miracle happens, I won't get pregnant on my own, even after I lose all my weight, unless I use donor eggs or donor embryos.

Some women will get KU'd, if their only issue was their excess weight was keeping them from having regular cycles. Once their cycles start back up, they become fertile again.

Others who have PCOS will still need some help with getting KU'd.

One gal from Australia who got banded a couple years ago just delivered her baby that she conceived using donor eggs from Thailand. If you PM me, I can give you her blog address.

But yes, it can happen, but it all depends on what is the cause of your infertility in the first place.

I am sure there are many variables involved. I would see a specialist to assist you with this. I wish you the best.

I have PCOS, which made conceiving difficult. After a few unsuccessful pregnancies, I finally have two beautiful boys! When I was ready to try again, I saw a fertility specialist and took Metformin (preband).

The thought of losing another pregnancy is difficult and tramatic. The joy of having a child is beyond anything that I can put into words.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
