Anyone drop a shoe size?

Recommended Posts

I should be getting the band soon. I weight 340 lbs and wear a size 10 EE (Extra extra wide), and then only some of this size will fit.

Those of you that lost a lot of weight, did your shoe size change and how much did you lose before you noticed?

I went from a 11W to a 10 M. Some 10s are too small, but the 11s are too big. Would someone please start making 10 1/2 shoes?

I lost a shoe size as well so far. But my biggest problem right now is I am in between on bra sizes 40 is too big and 38 is too tight and there is no in-between. Thankfully so far the cup size has stayed the same.

What you need is called a bra extender. Look at Walmart in the sewing section. Be sure to check you bra first to see how many hooks (i.e. 3,4) The extenders are under $2.00 and work wonders.

I went from a 10W to a straight up 9. I'm not quite halfway so I am expecting more and buying less in the area of shoes as a result!

Funny, because I figured I'd be safe buying shoes, but I wasn't!

I have not had my surgery yet but many women in my office have. They have all done down in shoe sizes. It was like Christmas for me when they would bring me their nice expensive worn once shoes cause they couldn't wear them anymore.. =)

I always wore a EE. At my highest weight of 298 lbs I couldn't find anything to fit and developed plantar facsiitis due to wearing flip flops with no support. My ankles swelled too. During my pre-op Optifast diet I lost all the ankle swelling and can now wear my normal 9EE shoes and tie them! I'm back into my orthotics though trying to heal the facsiitis.

Yes! And it felt great! I went from an 11 to a 10 and it's starting to flop. My feet was ALWAYS swollen, not any more (happy face).

As my weight crept up I was wearing a 9 or 9 1/2. I had been an 8 1/2 most of my adult life. I am back in the 8 1/2 pretty firmly. I had no ankle swelling this summer and we had awful heat and humidity this year.

I'd gone up to a 9 from an 8 1/2 when I got to my biggest weight. Now I'm back to 8 1/2 -- and all my shoes from 2 years ago are too big! Oh well! :(

I think it's pretty common. :tongue2: Your width is likely to change a bunch too -- it will probably go to standard width by the time you get near your goal. Freaky, huh?! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
