Outrageous Octobers

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled for the day BEFORE Thanksgiving. Not sure if that is going to be good or bad although I have a small family that doesnt really Celebrate very much so it should be ok. Nice to find someone (a twin) who is in the same boat as me. I also want to lose about 60 more pounds. We can do this right!!!!

we can and will!! I've told myself that failure isnt an option:thumbup:

How are all the October Bandsters??!! I am wondering how everyone did for Thanksgiving!

It was strange for me since I was not really able to partake in the but gusting bingeing I have done every year on this day! I ate slowly, enjoyed family and had an overall great Thanksgiving. I wish I could have tasted more of the fabulous food that was there, but my tummy just wasn't going to allow that! I'm just worried that I have not been losing weight really over this past few weeks since I have gained my appetite back. I can't wait for my first fill on Monday!!!

Has everyone already gotten their first fill? What was your experience? I'm a little nervous.......

Hi I was banded on october 15th, my first fill is on Dec3rd. Just wondered how people were getting on with their first fills and if they felt restriction.

Also is it possible to alter my settings to get an email alert when this thread has new posts?

thanks

Hello!

I was banded on October 19th. I'm feeling great and just joined the site today. I'm looking to share my experiences with others and get some good tips and advice too. Hope you are doing well! :) Take Care!

I'm on my way to being banded in October, hopefully the 15th or 18th... Yahoo... Tough work, but well worth it.

Are you getting banded then too?? I would love to have friends to talk and share my experiences with, for Encourgament and Cheers for scale & NSV goals.

Hey gals (guys if we have them?) - Just checking in. Looks like you all are doing great. The new system is a bit weird for me, but I'll hand in there.

How are you all feeling? How was your holiday.

Things have been pretty good for me, breezed through thanksgiving thankfully, I'm like you I don't keep sweets and high carb food in the house so thats been fun NOT... Hopefully the Hubby will eat those soon.... hahaha....

My first fill was very uneventfull, she came in said - wow your doing good. Lay on the table, I did, about 30 seconds later I was up drinking water... Felt great. I can't say I have alot of restriction, I'm able to eat about a cup and a half of food, but try to stay closer to a cup. I'm working out good and feeling good. I've lost 32 pounds total... So I'm pretty happy with it.

I hope you all are doing great, and let us know if you have anything you want to talk about, theres lots of ears here.

Don't forget about Monday Weigh-ins if you'd like to share.

Hi elikis

just wondered how your fill went, hope it was all ok.

Hi Katiejane,

It went well! It feels so good to not be hungry! I went in there in the afternoon and had read somewhere that for best results you should have at least 6 hrs between eating and fill, so my stomach was GROWLING before the fill. Then the fill, then no more hunger. I hope that this feeling lasts a while because my dr. only does fills 8 weeks apart. I got 5 ccs in an 11cc band.

The procedure itself was pretty simple, the only bothersome part was the local shot which burned like crazy for a few seconds. So like "Loosing it for Life" said it was pretty quick. Just lay on the table, they give the local, root around with the needle for the port til the port is found, once needle is in the port you have to sit up or stand up, then while they put in the saline you sip Water to be sure you are not completely obstructed. Took less than 10 mins.

How are you doing?

elikis,

hello, I'm still here, I'm doing fine. I have been busy logging in at my lap-band journey. But as I here all of you talking I have to go to the doctors on thursday and I think i'm going to need a fill also. I am eating more and hungrey alot sooner that at the very start, I want to fill that filling of not being hungrey again, I liked that lol. I only log my weight loss when I go to the doctors now but I see you may have something going on here,. I do miss chatting with everyone. And I'm back....I need the support daily if needed. And lately I've needed it. Wow I realize I have alot to talk about but this will be enough now.

Hi All,

My surgery was 10/27. I lost 8 pounds pre surgery and then another 8 post surgery. When I hit week two post surgery, my hunger pangs went off the charts. For the next two weeks, I remained very careful as I introduced soft foods and then solids .....but was not able to lose, despite consuming less than 1400 calories a day and exercising. Since I had no restriction and found I tolerated all foods, my goal has been to not regain any of the weight I lost to date. Tomorrow is my first fill, and I am excited to get on with it and find the losing zone again. But I am somewhat discouraged by reports that folks still dont feel restriction after the first fill. Other than some port area pain and occasional abdominal cramps, I feel great and walk aboout 8 miles a week.

:( tomorrow is my first fill, just a bit worried about it, I guess it's just the fact of something being injected into it, I don't know maybe I'm worried about something going wrong, just because everything has gone so well so far.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
