Way to go ladybug, Jane, glad your day went well, sounds like you did very well, don't forget to keep on walking:smile2:

I can't wait to be able to go to the gym, my hospital that I had surgery at has a lifestyle gym and all lap-band patients get discount rates to use the gym and no fee to use the indoor track.

keep on chatting with us were all going to need that extra support.

Went an picked up my last few things before surgery - found some great Liquid Protein shots with no sugar - those will come in handy. Explained the entire surgery to my husband in the care - I think he is in shock now...We'll see what happens. I have two goals. Vegas for new years (already have tickets) I hope to have lost at least 25 pounds by then (2mo po), and then Arizona in March to see his parents - hope to have lost at least 50 (5mo po). Gotta get some good goals ready - since I'm not treating myself with food anymore... That is going to be something to get used to....:)

Hi Karen! I cannot wait to eat some scrambled eggs on Friday!! Sounds funny, but when I got my mushies list, that stuck in my mind! Im starting to get a little hungry for real food...tired of drinking and eating all meals with a spoon, lol.

Surgery date is almost here and I am feeling pretty anxious. I'm not worried about the eating changes, that part is already laid out for the next few weeks and I like having a plan. The part that is annoying is not knowing how I will feel afterward. How bad will the pain be? Will I be able to go anywhere or will I be laid out for a few days? I've never had surgery before of any kind and have never been anesthetized! Am I the only one obsessing over this?:)

Well I am now one week away..October 18th is the day. Had all pre-op testing this week and the last thing for me is my internist to give final clearance. I have been stocking up on different Protein Drinks, baby food, gatorade with Protein, gasx strips, pill crusher and on and on and on. I am truly not nervous about the surgery itself - more nervous about how I will feel after it is over. My Dr. just requires Clear Liquids 2 days prior to surgery - no 2 week thing however this week I plan to start the big cutdown of food intake. I seem to have fallen into that famous last supper syndrome. My nutritionist reminded me that we will be able to eat everything again - just in very small amounts.

Good luck everyone and lets all stick together to give support that we will all need!!:)

We're band sisters - I'm being banded the same day. I'm like you I'm on the big cut down this week. My husband keeps askiing me "so what will be your last meal" to bad for him it will probably be a protein shake... But I'm as anxious as ever to start out on this journey... I'll keep you in my prayers sunday night... Good luck...:)

Hi Elikis! Everyone seems to react a little differently pain wise after surgery. Its been a little over a week for me and it gets better everyday. The first couple are the hardest. Listen to what everyone tells you...walk and sip Water, its the biggest help. And dont worry about being put to sleep, you won't even realize whats going on, next thing you know you'll be in recovery:thumbup:

Just realized you're going in tomorrow!! Best of luck to you!!!!!!

Hello Outrageous Octobers! I just want to stop by and say congrats to all the post ops out there this month and congrats to the pre ops too. Sadly I won't be able to get banded this month like orginally planned. My insurance pre approved me for it then sad they needed 5 years of a BMI over 40. I only have 3. And its in the contract with my employer that all employees on the cheaper insurance has to have the 5 years. So it is kinda hard to appeal it. But... the more expensive insurance allows it with the only requirement being a BMI of over 40. So October is still going to be a good month for me because it is open enrollment for insurance. I will be changing my insurance to the expensive one this month and have my surgery in the first 2 weeks of January. So new year, new me:thumbup:. So I was dropping by to say Hi to everyone and good luck!

Nicole

How frustrating! Glad that you're going to be able to have it after all. Rules like that are crazy and don't make any sense. You would think that they would be happy that people want to be healthier instead of imposing a 5 year unhealthy rule. Sounds like you have a great attitude - hang in there!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
