My Lapband story started a very long time ago, long before the Lapband was even an option. Like many of the other people here, I have fought the fat war since I was young, I really started dieting when I was in junior high, of course not the right way by any means. From OTC diet pills, to a long line of laxitives, starvation you name it I tried it. I slowed down on dieting so much mid way through my high school career - I was actually doing fairly well. Then College came, and after that I entered the real world, working, having fun experienceing it all and I loved it.  I've also been living with PCOS since I was about 17 years old (now 30). I've had the cysts, come and go, thankfully resolving on their own. I've had intermittent bouts with high blood pressure and insulin resistances. I've been dealing with Type 2 Diabetic for about a year now, being a bit non-compliant and not taking medication for it - being strong minded that I can keep my sugars down on my own through diet and exercise. Along with abnormal hair growth and my biggest nemesis Infertility. All of that adding to my weight stressers I plateaued at about 200 for about 5-6 years. Then I met the my best friend and biggest supporter in 2004, my husband Chris. and started gaining a firm 10 pounds a year since. Now at 260,  I've been to 3 different doctors that say, just loose 100 - 125 and you'll be able to get pregnant on your own, but because of all of your "health issues" (weak heart & previous blood clots, plus the PCOS factor) we can't put you and your "pregnancy" at risk and move forward with fertility treatments. I have hit my bigest weight in life at 260, when my mom said, we'll pay for you to have a seriget pregnancy, that way your health isn't at risk. Instead I said, how about the Lapband? Now with my biggest mountain is in sight; hopefully the final battle in my Fat War.  I'm hoping to be banded in October, and with hard work and a lot of determination, I will hopefully say good by to being overweight and PCOS FOREVER....And reach my ultimate goal..... Motherhood....
