Outrageous Octobers

Recommended Posts

I'm on my way to being banded in October, hopefully the 15th or 18th... Yahoo... Tough work, but well worth it.

Are you getting banded then too?? I would love to have friends to talk and share my experiences with, for Encourgament and Cheers for scale & NSV goals.

Hi sweetie. I am signed up for October 8th. My pre-op visit is Sept.23rd and my 14 day fast starts Sept. 24th.

That is my 44th wedding anniversary. I have children older then you. I'm sure you was looking for someone a little younger but our journey will start close together.

I guess we have to start some place.

Gran... I am so excited for you... I've only been married for 3 years, but it's also a great journey...

Thanks you for joining me on this great new chapter... Age is only a number, and you'll be one hot number here in a few months... hehe

How are you feeling about your fasting?

17 days till I start to fast. 14 days fasting before B-day.

No, not my birthday! B-day it's what I call Gran's Band Day. I also would just love to get on with it. I'm VERY nervous. The not knowing what to expect is the worse. I promise to try and help you all and write every day when fasting so you have some kind of an idea. For now I am trying to get use to the PAP machine. Guess where that is going after surgury?

Am I posting this right?

Hey

What does NVS mean? I'm sure I will go duh, I knew that after you tell me. lol

NSV means Non-Scale Victory, i.e Baggie Clothes, taking a great hike without being winded, dropping sizes, getting more deffinition in your muscles. It can also be, passing up the more fatty food choices for healthy ones...

Small steps make giant leaps, in our game...

Hi all October bandsters...I was given a date today - October 18th. I do not have my approval from insurance company as of yet but I do not think I will have a problem. My Dr. only does a 2 day liquid diet pre-surgery. Don't know if that is a good thing or not. Feeling a little anxious but I know the outcome for all of us will be great. I have learned not to dwell on the negative posts on this site. They can make you a little crazy. For all of you C-pap users I have some advice. Keep trying masks until you find the one that is comfortable for you. It took me about 10 tries until I found a good one.. Good luck all and I am sure we will be talking again...:)

non scale victory! I like that. I'll take any kind of victory I can get. Thanks for the PAP mask info. I have changed three times and I thought he was just being nice when he said this happens often. I have lost 9 1/2 pounds this month but suddenly since I have my date I'm having trouble eating to much. I have coped a bad attitude saying better eat this now since it will be a long time till I eat again. Not good, not good at all. I have enough to lose without adding to it.

Hi there - I am 55 1/2 years old and am also doing this to increase my energy level. I find that I get winded when I walk around and this troubles me terribly. I can so relate to what you said about the pre-diet. It is like the famous sunday night before a monday diet. My mask is a Res-med swift FX. It is the lightest most comfortable one I have tried and I have tried a million. Lets keep in touch and we can compare notes on this venture we are taking...:blushing:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
