August 16 - It's my 4 year bandiversary

Recommended Posts

Many of you who have been here on LBT for a while know me. For those of you who are new, thinking of being lapbanded or about to be lapbanded I am reaching out to share and Celebrate. Today is my 4 year bandiversary.:cursing::biggrin:

My experience is that if you are willing and able to learn how the lapband works and have a plan to use it everyday you can be really successful. I had almost given up on having a normal healthy body, a body that I actually love living my life in. But now it's a reality. Congratulations Gloria, and thank-you so much for posting! I am at a year and 3 months post-op and just a few pounds shy of my main goal - losing 100lbs. I am always looking for women like you who have been successful with the band over a long period of time. You are truly an inspiration! I jumped over to your blog, and received additional inspiration from your post re: "Staying motivated after the compliments stop coming". I am still receiving a lot of compliments, as I am still running into people that I see occasionally that see a huge difference. But I know the day will be coming that my 'new' figure will become 'just me', and the changes in my body will no longer register with most people. Your tips are very helpful. You were beautiful pre-op, and you're stunning post-op. I wish you well on your lifetime commitment to health and well-being :(

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
