Cocktails Anyone?

Any suggestions for some lap band friendly cocktails? I am turning the big 30 and graduating with my master's degree in three weeks. We will have a huge celebration and I am looking for some great tasting, yet not too bad for you drinks....

Anything NON-carbonated is ok...of course any of the sweet drinks like Pina Coladas, will pack on the empty calories...but it's only 1 night right? :cursing:

Congrats and enjoy yourself...you deserve it!

Thank you! I am going to try to find something lower in calories. I guess I could take my crystal light packets and just order some vodka or rum! Thanks for the info!

When I low carb I drank vodka and Powerade zero (the lime is especially good!

On some menus recently I've seen skinny margaritas and mojitos listed, using Crystal Light lemonade. And I know that Splenda can be subbed for the sugar in mojitos! I also like gin and tonics, which aren't too bad on calories as cocktails go. Other than that, I often go with rum and diet; my doctor isn't strict on carbonation, it doesn't cause me a problem, and I don't drink carbonated drinks very often anyway!

Any suggestions for some LAP-BAND® friendly cocktails? I am turning the big 30 and graduating with my master's degree in three weeks. We will have a huge celebration and I am looking for some great tasting, yet not too bad for you drinks....

I am certainly not recommending that any cocktails are lap band friendly:lol:but I recently posted about how I get through vacations successfully with my band and ENJOY myself so you may find a few hints at: Lap Band Success – How To Enjoy Vacation With Your Lap Band

If you have not had any alcohol in a while I suggest you REALLY LIMIT yourself. One glass of wine took me for quite a ride after not having any for 9 months after I was banded.

Getting your Master's is certainly something to Celebrate. Good luck!

Vodka with light cranberry juice or the V8 fusion Light is really good!!! I also love it with all the Crystal light or Ocean Spray light flavors. I'll even get the different flavored vodka's

Well, because I like to have my cocktails, and I was a low carber, I like vodka and Powerade Zero lime. It has no carbs at all. I am only newly banded, but I will be following a low carb regiem once I get through my phases. Also most bars and restraunts don't mind if you bring your own mix! Just go and nicely talk to the bartender, and they will understand!

peace out

Kelly:biggrin:

Well I suppose you could, but lime juice has a lot of sugar in it. Especially rosa's lime juice what they would use in a bar. You know, it is only one night, you might as well just party down! Double up on the good after!:(

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
