hi everyone,

I am 47 years old and thinking about getting the lap band. I have tried dieting numerous times only to lose the pds. and gain it back plus more...I think the lap band is my only solution! I am looking for any input (good or bad). For anyone that has had it done, does it really help with hunger pangs and cravings?

sk welcome to lbt!

Please take a look around. Especially check out the Pre-op section and the success photos. I think that will steer you in the right direction at this time in your journey. This website has so much information you will likely still hear new things once banded!

Good luck.

I was just banded so I don't know because I haven't found my sweet spot yet but I can tell you that so far I've been amazed. I was like that too- couldn't lose weight for anything. I had medical conditions that caused me to gain weight and medications that kept me fat. Now I've lost 29 pounds in only a month and a half. Personally it's the best thing I've ever done. But take a look around and think it over. It's a huge life change and if you aren't ready it won't work.

It is definitely different but i am losing weight and that is great. I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
