info. needed

hi everyone,

I am 47 years old and thinking about getting the lap band. I have tried dieting numerous times only to lose the pds. and gain it back plus more...I think the lap band is my only solution! I am looking for any input (good or bad). For anyone that has had it done, does it really help with hunger pangs and cravings?

sk welcome to lbt!

Please take a look around. Especially check out the Pre-op section and the success photos. I think that will steer you in the right direction at this time in your journey. This website has so much information you will likely still hear new things once banded!

Good luck.

I was just banded so I don't know because I haven't found my sweet spot yet but I can tell you that so far I've been amazed. I was like that too- couldn't lose weight for anything. I had medical conditions that caused me to gain weight and medications that kept me fat. Now I've lost 29 pounds in only a month and a half. Personally it's the best thing I've ever done. But take a look around and think it over. It's a huge life change and if you aren't ready it won't work.

I am liking my band; i found out i was pregnant just after surgery so now after having the baby i am finally getting to try it out! It is definitely different but i am losing weight and that is great. My suggestion is to do your research; check amazon get a few books and read up... check online here as well; as there is alot of info, advice, tips and encouragement..all the best to you!)
