Recommended Posts

I was just wondering what everyone had done for the pureed diet i start mine on friday. I do have problems with the Protein i just cant drink as much as they tell me so my protein intake has been low, but they also tell me not to drink if i cant. Never thought i would be excitied for pureed food so just needs some ideas !! Thanks

I pureed Soups I made them in my crock pot and usually just left out the carb and pureed them up. I also made smoothies with Protein Powder I would get 30 grams of Protein from that. I would also go for an extra Protein Shake if I needed to. I agree it is hard to get the protein you need but you will feel so much better if you do.

GOOD LUCK!!!

My nut said to eat fish, something like tilipia. It's "mushy" enough when you bake it that you don't have to puree. If you like fish it's a great alternative to pureed. It's like 100 calories for 4oz and has 22 grams of Protein.

Good luck and once you get through the pureed it does get better.

I'm doing lots of bean Soups, fat-free refried Beans, pureed chicken and ground turkey (mixed in with other stuff), and soft fish. 1% Cottage cheese and fat-free ricotta cheese too.

If I'm not getting enough Protein, then I'll add a Protein shake, or add powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored to my pureed soups.

So, for example, last night I made one of my old Weight Watchers standy recipes, taco Soup. I left out the corn and added extra Beans. Frozen pepper/onion mix, canned mexican flavor tomatoes, and browned and drained ground turkey. Packet of taco seasoning and that's it!

I pureed my serving (and added a scoop of unflavored Unjury) and topped with a dollop of fat free sour cream and some diced avocado.

The rest of my family ate it too, without pureeing it, of course.

And I had a leftover bowl made the same way today for lunch!

Tonight's dinner will be fish fillets baked in foil with some light sesame dressing for marinade, and a side of butternut squash Soup. The rest of the family will get the same thing, but with rice on the side too.

I'm in a sort of pureed/mushies combo stage until my first fill. This isn't what my surgeon's diet was originally, but it's what he moved me to at my 1 week post-op for some reason, and I'll be on it until 5 weeks post-op, when I have an appointment to get my first fill.

However, I'm going to Chicago in about a week (will be just over 4 weeks post-op), and will probably have to do some solid food at that weekend, but I'm going to try to keep things as soft as possible.

Of course, my MIL is all excited about taking us to get Chicago pizza and steak, and she doesn't know about my surgery, so dancing around it should be fun (not!). :

tuna in Water (i like the small pouches) or canned white meat chicken (in water)-both are pretty soft and you can mix with a little light mayo. creamed Soups, and V-8. Also i have a problem with those Protein Shakes (i'm just sick of them!) i found some special K Protein water mix (kind of like the crystal light packs) and its just like drinking flavored water, there's not a lot of protein in them but there is some and it beats the shakes!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
