Going for Second Fill. What should I ask?

Recommended Posts

Okay, so on Sunday I go for my second fill. The first fill did absolutely nothing. I can eat what ever I want. Nothing gets stuck, and I don't feel too full. I had more restriction the first 3 weeks after surgery, than I did when I got my fill. So all of you who have been through the process multiple times, can you think of anything that I need to ask my doctor, other than, why aren't I experiencing any restriction in my food intake?

I'm kind of excited to see if there will be any difference, but I'm also very fearful that I will continue to gain the weight that I lost from healing after surgery. I got down 12 pounds and I've but on 6 pounds. Ugh! Will I make it through?

I can't think of what to ask them but they should be asking you:

  • How much can you eat in one sitting
  • How long after eating are you hungry
  • Are you drinking during your meals
  • Are there any foods that you can't tolerate
  • Are you vomitting
  • Are you feeling nauseous

If you aren't being asked this, readily volunteer the information to them. It will help them determine if you need a fill and how much.

My second fill was great for a week then I was back to being able to eat a 6" sub. I go for my third tomorrow morning.

Btrieger gave a good answer. I was also going to say they should be asking you the questions to see where you are with restriction level. I know it can be kind of frightening not to know what to expect. Keep at it, eventually you will get the proper restriction. The doctor is the professional and should be making the assessment and decision on your fill based on the information you give them. So be as forthcoming as possible.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
