Microwaved Food: not working for me!

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else have a problem with leftovers? I can have a meal that works great when it is freshly cooked, but then when I reheat it for another meal in the microwave, it gets stuck. Is it because the moisture is decreased after being microwaved? Is it all in my head? What gives?

No it is not all in your head. Lots of people have problems with leftovers.I don't know the exact reason but it is likely that the reduced moisture content is a big part of it. Sometimes though the food can be really moist but it still gets stuck. I think some foods actually change texture when they are refrigerated and then reheated.

Not all in your head. It is drier and not as tender. Many foods go down harder for me upon reheating.

Its certainly not just you. I have the same problem. I've found that if I reheat it slower (at 70% power instead of 100% power) in the microwave, then that helps. And, reheating until it is just warm (not piping hot) helps as well. But, sometimes it still won't work. Then, I'll make chicken salad out of chicken or salmon salad (like tuna salad, but w/leftover salmon) instead. Eating your leftover meats w/any sort of sauce also helps (BBQ sauce, salsa, Salad Dressing, mayo mixed w/hot chili sauce, etc.).

It does the same to me. I have no problem with Weight Watchers® and other meals that were made to nuked but I do my left overs cold if at all now.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
