LOL...ok! It does feel weird though, like I am breaking from the group a bit.

A bypass ain't gonna break this bond, lady. Just don't get skinnier than us, k????

Ditto what Judy said: Just don't get skinnier than us!

Pam, I had that same thought re: the pb'ing & eating something cool/soothing, so I slowly ate a sugar-free cherry popsicle... THAT's what I pb'd into the ziploc in the car... which doesn't look good when you pb red liquid into a clear baggie, btw! :)

I know, TMI!

Lots of work to do today... everyone make it a good one!

Morning girls~

I have the date set for the 23rd of Nov. for the surgery. I meet w/ the doc this thursday to discuss and the ins already approved it. All my friends who have had it only wish they had it sooner...and I don't want to be having this conversation 20 years from now. Susanne is 100% behind me on this; only wants me healthy. I am toooo belly fat, close to diabetes (which is BIG in my family) and other problems. I am scared...but should be down 30-40 lbs by Xmas!!!

OK...gotta put my face on!

Getting excited for your visit!

Important thoughts to ponder:

Truths For Mature Adults

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

15. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

16. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

17. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

18. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

19. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

20. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

21. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

22. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

23. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important.

Michelle, your list made me crack up! I'm laughing like a hyena and I'm sure my coworkers think I'm nuts....

Jane, why am I purple? Ha ha ha

Im on a new phone now. No more pecking at a a querty keyboard. That always hurt my finger so bad.

not much going on here. Just nesting at the house. We cleaned our closets and the garage this weekend. Just making sure we have enough room for all the stuff that one accumulates with a baby.

Ill be six months next wednesday. I can't believe how fast it's going...

Oh pam, you'll still be a violet even if you get down to 125 and have the ass of a 17 year old, lol... I could care less now what everyone weighs so it won't be any different when you're a size 6...

I worked monday, can you just believe it! We have no holidays off anymore except for christmas and thanksgiving.

I'm starving right now so need to go find food...

Haven't your co-workers figured out before now that you're nuts, Haydee? :)

Weighed in today... for the month of September, I'm down 5.6 lbs! It's all about balance! Who knew? (Or else that pb spell from yesterday... if it didn't hurt so bad, I might embrace my inner anorexic!)

Great job, Michelle!!!

I know where 5 of those pounds went!... right here.:) I've gained 5 since the unfill, but I'm ok with that as long as I can still fit in my clothes. I changed my fill appt. to Oct. 18 to give me more time for the knee to heal before making the 8 hour round trip.

Off to take the dogs for their grooming and then a nap for me.

Hey girls~

the kids are making climate posters and i am too tired to make the letters capped!

I will get out at 1pm the day you arrive (just have to buy Shaun a drink or three at a later time). I am glad, that way the 11am girls can go grab lunch at the casino buffet, and I can pick up the 12:20 girls at the airport...then pick up the 11am girls downtown. I will need to pick up the minivan at the airport too. Anyway...it all works out in my head, haha!

I see the doc tomorrow and will finalize the deets of the gb surgery, but yes, I've already scheduled it. Not sure if I have to do this that and the other before the surgery like before. Hope I don't have to do ALL of it. Either way...I am done w/ this and ready to get on the other side of it.

We are having Rob and Charles over for dinner Friday night!!! That should be fun! Filet Minjon, baked pots, italian salad, zuccinni...MMMMMMMMMM!

Today we got our new pool pump!!! It cost 1400$ but it should save us tons (hopefully) in the electric bills. This months bill was $617...boy do we fight when the bill comes. She yells, I recoil and get pissed she is yelling...and we are both frustrated. Already nervous for the next bill. We get our blinds next week AND Susanne got us a screen door...

gotta go

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
