Judy, you can ask for anti naseau (sp) meds.

Sending you prayers and love Judy...waiting for update!

Quick check in. Went from 1.2 in band to 2.0...and I am HAPPYHAPPYHAPPY!!! I am SERIOUSLY considering bypass surgery, and had a very long talk w/ the doc. He said there are new studies showing that nearly 50% of lapband pts fail (or the band fails the pt)..either way! May do it near Thanksgiving. I have about 5 or 6 friends who had it and they all say they are so happy they did it...and they'd do it again in a a sec.

gotta boogey...love you all. please text me if anyone hears from Judy...will be away from puter today, and have a mammo at 3:30!

Just a quick good Friday morning!

Sending you thoughts and prayers judy!

Pam, ever consider the sleeve? I think I'm gonna save up to do that once I'm done having kids.

Tonight dinner at my aunts house. Tomorrow we are gonna go watch salt and try a new restaurant in town. We've been home bodies lately and need to go on a date!

But for now, lunch at my favorite mexican restaurant! Yay! I'm such a piggie!

Everyone have a great weekend!

I am home and feeling great!!! No sickness at all. He did a general with the stuff that killed Michael Jackson... He died???? It was extremely painful when I woke up.. I did my best not to scare the other patients, but the pain pills kicked in fairly quickly and I was able to go home a half hour after I woke up. Doc said there was a LOT of popping and cracking. He got it to bend to 120. I have therapy this afternoon so as not to lose what I gained today.

Can't tell you how great it was to wake up and not be puking. I told the anesthesiologist that I was going to name my next child Annie after him. Going to go ice the knee until therapy at 3:15. Thanks for the prayers and purple power.. they worked!!!

I plan to swap to sleeve after I'm done with the babies thing. All self-pay of course, so that's a lot of saving, who knows when I'll be able to afford it.

Glad Judy is on her way to recovery!

I had a dream last night that I was at a normal walk-in clinic because I had a cough.. and some reason they decided to do an amniotic test (without me knowing it), so they walk in and go 'did you know you're pregnant! you're having a girl, she's good and healthy!'.

And I was like whaaat?? I knew I was preg, but didn't know how they knew.. anyway.. then they wanted to give me 2 big azz shots in my belly for the baby since I had a cough, and that was a big ordeal I kept saying no... but I woke up and kept going "it was a dream... but they did an amniotic test, so it has to be accurate!" lol

So happy you are fine, Judy. Prayers do work, I believe that. Yeah, don't lose your bending power. You'll be running around California before you know it!

Judy,

So glad you are back to business!!! That is wonderful news!

I talked at length w/ doc about the sleeve. It is the same as the band, and has the overall same success rate. I am TIRED of the 40 year old battle w/ this. I know it is not going to be "easy" but I am ready to start this.

Good evening, Violets..

Just up from a 2 hour nap while Bob went golfing.

Therapy at 3:15 was so good! I got the knee to bend to 110 without feeling like I had to scream from the pain. Rode the stationary bike, did the total gym and all of the exercises were so much easier. I sure hope this holds! I will be in the pool and on my stationary bike tomorrow to I don't lose any ground over the weekend.

Got good news from Joe in Wyoming.. he will start working on the oil rigs on Monday. Much better job, much better pay, much better benefits. He is a happy camper because now he knows he can take care of his family. Ethan misses his Gramma and Grampa and I sure do miss him, but things are looking so much better for them out there. We'll be making a trip out there in a few months so I can get my Ethan fix.

Off to get my tabloids and read and eat pizza for supper. Life is good!!

Everyone enjoy their weekend!

Judy, I am so glad to hear you are doing well.

Home from work, and I think I am going to hop in bed. Very tired for some reason. Not real busy at Sallys, but super duper busy at real job today so maybe that is it.

Good Morning girlies...

Off & running this morn... already took ds to the HS for soccer scrimmages all morn... then dd to the barn, a quick stop @ Sports Auth & Target, a drive thru Sbux for a pick-me-up, then to the last scrimmage of the morn... phew! Then home & work... lots & lots of work.

I've got a good book recommendation for those who enjoy the Stephen King genre of books. So Cold the River by Michael Koryta.

Oh yeah, 1 more stop this a.m.... I'm going by the Y to sign up for 2 aqua aerobics classes that start next week. Tues morns is "Shallow Water Aerobics" and Fri morns is "Energized Aqua Pi-Yo-Chi". I've got to get back to basics, and I did enjoy the aqua workouts, so...

Everyone enjoy the day! Keep on bending, Judy!!

judy, oh i'm so happy for your son. I bet he feels a thousand times better now that he's able to provide sufficiently for his family. It relieves so much stress from a family dynamic when you feel like you have a strong position and a good sense of purpose in your life. I feel so so happy for him!

It's so gorgeous outside and even though we have tons to do in the house we are gonna go play. First we are headed to a few fabric stores to see about the fabric for Sophia's bedding. My aunt has very generously offered to custom make all her bedding and nursery items. I'm so happy because I wasn't liking any of the bedding that I had been looking at. I went to a boutique and fell in love with some stuff but just for the crib bedding it was more than a thousand. Um, heck no. Not for baby poop and spit up. I want it to be nice but not expensive. So we'll see what I can find...

have a great saturday!

Good afternoon!

Fooled ya all by being here now didn't I?

We are celebrating my sisters 50 birthday tonight, and for some reason she gave me the night off, she later changed the schedule after I had made plans for an impromptu party and ordered the cake etc..., but she was nice and let me off. Whew!!!

Pamela, to answer the question you asked about a week ago about reading, they give me benedryl, so I can't really concentrate on reading too much. I can read short little articles, but not books. But, monday is my last day!! Yeah!!!!

Okay off for a little bit....

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
