Let's Play - What's your favorite Mushie?

Recommended Posts

Ok, pathetic choice of a game....but I need some suggestions!

What are/were your favorite mushies? I'm just about "souped" out...egg beaters, fat free refried Beans, tuna and cottage cheese are on my list. Sometimes I add a sprinkle of shredded cheese to melt on top of the eggbeaters.

I'm just starting the mushied phase and have 2+ weeks before I can progress to the next phase. So I need some choices. I'm still drinking Isopure drinks and Protein shakes too.

What was a typical serving size for you? I'm two weeks post op and my nutritionist recommends only a medicine cup full of mushies at each meal, is that common?

Thanks!

My sister makes a most amazing ricotta chees bake... just ricotta and italian seasonings baked in small ramekins. Really comforting!

1/2 cup of mashed potato with a pat of butter...mmmmmm:drool: and of course Sugar Free Chocolate pudding!! Ohh and don't forget a sugar free fudgesicle!!! I did pureed ham salad and tuna salad...that was very satisfying also! A medicine cup of food may be too small, but check the ounces he/she is recommending. I think 1/2c to 1c of pureed food is more of a filling meal, but check with your doctor.

I don't know if this is considered a 'mushy', but something I love and never had problems with... Smoked Salmon!!! You have to try to find one that is not too salty, though. costco has one I really like. I eat it for bfast almost every day.

many people have told me this is gross, BUT... I like cottage cheese with hummus on it. I think I had about 1/4 cup at a meal initially.

These are all great suggestions! I'm getting banded next week and I'm most concerned about the mushies stage, so this is a great help!

Keep 'em coming!

I am in my second week and I am able to eat about a cup and a half at dinner. I have half a large can of Soup for lunch and a Boost high Protein for Breakfast. I am eating 800-850 calories a day. Am I eating too much...looking at the small amounts everyone else was eating at the mushie stages.

I remember mushies as being reaaaaaallllllly good! It was such a great progression after all those liquids.

My favourites were:

a salad of skinned cucumber, skinned Tomato, tinned flavoured tuna (which made the dressing), chickpeas and avocado.

lentil dahl with a dollop of natural yogurt and a squeeze of lemon juice

mashed pumpkin, potato and mixed vegies with some gravy

fruit smoothies made with yogurt, milk and fruit

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
