I have had 3 surgeries with dr. huacuz. all my experiences have been great. THANKS DR. HUACUZ.

some people have said some negative things on here about dr.huacuz. im really surprised since i have only good things too say. i hope everyone checks and does the research and finds the doctor that is right for them. some people say these posts are fake , that some are designed to slam a doctor or promote a doctor. i am a real patient and i have seen first hand this doctors care and concern for his patients. whom every you choose i hope you have a safe and successful weight loss experience. i have and im so grateful for my band. i hope i can keep the weight off. so far so good.

Maybe the reason you have no complaints is because you are one that didn't have any complications.

Complications happen, no way around it. They happen to the bad docs and the good docs. The key is how those complications are handled and how many they have.

Everyone that had no problems and loses their excess weight loves their doc. Those that have complications see how the doc REALLY is. That is what newbies need to be looking for, how the bad stuff is dealt with.

YES , im very grateful that i havent had any complications. the band has been the only successful way for me to lose and keep the weight off. i was afraid to have any surgery that would cut my stomach. i like the fact that the band can be removed. i just hope i never have to go there....

Dr. Haucuz is very nice until gets your money but if you have any complication he forgets about you. Two faces in my opinion.Good luck if you want to try him.

You wrote on another thread that this same Dr. asked you to come back for him to fix it. How is that not helping?

On another thread the poster explained he'll fix it for $7K. I think that is the frustration.

Ah! Wouldn't most surgeons not cover the cost of a slip? Guess it depends on when the person in question was banded and if the slip was caused by the surgeon, person in question or none of the above eh?

Well, first time I saw this poster's frustration with the band they just said it was a slip. I asked for details but they did not respond. Now they are saying the slip was caused by the band being placed wrong.

If the band was placed wrong it needs to be taken care of ($$) by the doc that did it. But if it was a slip from PBing, etc., that's not the doc's fault.

Not enough info yet.

How can the "fault" be determined ?

If the band was placed incorrectly it will usually show on a barium swallow. The band position, etc. If there are not enough sutures, etc. then it would show when they do surgery to correct the problem.

With that said, there are some docs who don't want to do barium swallows after surgery because on film the band "looks" like it is too high. In reality it isn't, it's just the way the band is positioned and the stomach sewn over it. Most bariatric surgeons know full well how it works but a lot of radiologists don't and they misread the films.

I know Dr. Curry from Ohio has mentioned this before and he said this is one reason he doesn't do routine barium swallows after surgery, he doesn't believe the films are read correctly by radiology.

Hi Utahband. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I can tell you are in alot of pain due to your typing. But then English may be your second language.

You hang in there and get well!

There are going to be things that go wrong with any WLS, its called complications and WLS has been known to have complications from time to time. Sorry this happened to you.

Keep us posted and let us know how you are doing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
