Banded 5/21...here we go

Recommended Posts

Hi

I was banded 5/21 (today is the 24th). The experience was not pleasant. Did not recover too well in the hospital, almost passed out once from pain, then had alot of pain the first night and day. I was prescribed Rociet? and stopped taking it after one day because it put me out and was disgusting going down. I think most of my discomfort was anesthesia/surgery related stuff, sore throat, headache-really bad for a day and a half, weak, and surgical pain at site of incisions. Started feeling alot better the 2nd day and today (my first day on full liquids) I feel alot better. I took a shower, got dressed, put in contacts, and feel human again. Still really unsure about what is going to work for me as far as eating. I have some gas but seems like acid too. Not sure if I'm full most of the time so I am weighing and measuring. The first two days on Clear Liquids, I did experience alot of hunger and digestive upset, if you know what I mean, so it was quite unpleasant. Today I got to eat pudding, yippee! Well gonna run to Walgreens now and try to get Gas-X strips that everyone is recommending. :tongue2:

chow for now

I was banded on 5-3. Give yourself a week and you will feel much better, I promise.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
