Adding more calories and lost 2lbs???

Recommended Posts

I know the first 6 weeks is only the healing period after surgery but I have lost about 9lbs since surgery and just stuck there but yesterday I had added about 200 more calories because I was starving and this morning I got on the scale and was down 2lbs!!!!!!! I had about 1050 calories for the day, I have been sticking to about 800 a day. Last night I must admit was totally out of boredom, so my question is could the 800 calories be not enough for me and I am starving myself or is this just a myth????

800 calories is not enough! Sounds like your body was in starvation mode. I would stick to the extra calories!

I've experienced the same thing. I seem to lose best when I am just about 1000 cals....when i was only choking down 550-700 nada!

I was just banded a week ago and I have been able to eat next to nothing. I havent lost much weight. I was finally able to get an extra Protein Shake down and im already down 2 more pounds! If you dont have enough calories , your body is going to hold on to what it has left.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
