I had a fill 1 week ago and it took me up to 6.5cc. This is the first fill where i really feel tight. I cant eat a lot and even drinking sometimes is difficult. i have not lost any wait in about a month and just really frustrated. This past week i have not eaten much cause i cant. I have also been really stressed from work the last couple of months. I know stress makes you tighter, but can it also prevent you from losing weight? i feel with my food intake this week i should have lost at least a little bit. i could really use some inspiration and advice. Thanks!

Yes, actually, stress can cause you to retain belly fat. Stress causes the release of cortisol that does that to us. Take walks! Release endorphins!

If your body goes into starvation mode, you will not loose weight.

I find that since I've been banded, when I'm stressed, I feel tighter and can barely eat anything. This is hilarious to me, considering before surgery, I was a total stress eater. However, regarding your recent fill, be careful with being too tight. If you're too tight and having issues w/ even beverages, your calorie intake will definitely go below what your body needs to thrive and to lose. Staying that tight can also cause band issues as well. When I'm too tight, I switch back to Protein shakes for a bit, just so that I'm getting in nutrients and enough calories. For me, if my calories are too low or if I'm not working out appropriately, I plateau for a week or two. So perhaps try tweaking your calorie intake or work-out frequency.

Best,

Lauren

I highly reccomend starting a workout program if you haven't already. It will boost that weight loss and help relieve stress. It's just too good a thing to pass up. Start out slow and gradually increase the intensity and/or duration. Hang in there!

 As long as you can get stuff down and keep it down, you're okay. But if you are throwing up at all, you better be super dooper careful as your band can slip. When this happens, not only will you not have your band, but it will cost you thousands to have it removed. You need to be upfront with your doctor about the symptoms you're having so you can elivate any problems like this. I know. I've been through it and those were the symptoms I had. So...as long as you don't :smile2: you'll be fine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
