My weight loss has slowed:(

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to talk about my weight loss slowing because people at work do not tend to understand. I am steadily losing a 1/2 pound to a pound a week, I am just anxious about meeting my goal. When I started this process I was losing 8-10lbs a month. It is a fight to the end now.

By the way I do not think it has anything to do with my eating or working out habits, I just think my body has figured out what I have been up to and now she wants a fight.

Generally speaking lack of change is the problem with exercise. I would change up your exercise routine as a first step.

Thats 1/2 a pound a week that is gone forever. (I bet the people at work aren't losing a 1/2 pound a week) I always tell my son, Be grateful for whatever you have no matter how small, but with the band its "Be grateful for whatever you have lost no matter how small!"

I am having the same issue, but mine has a bit to do with my love of chocolate I am afraid to say. I have boosted my workouts, but I eat chocolate EVERY day. I am working on this. I agree with a previous poster who said mix up your work out. Also if you have a very regular diet you should change that up a bit too. Good luck!

Yep, your body's got it figured out, and is fighting to hang on to what is left of you!

For someone so close to goal, you're really losing at a nice rate---I know it's not as heady as 8-10 pounds/month---but percentage-wise, it's still pretty darn good.

you are in the home stretch! I would take 1/2 a pound a week instead of the stall that I am at right now!

I agree 100%. You have to keep variety and balance in both your exercising and diet. However, as you build muscle, your weight loss may seem to be slowing down, but you may be at a stage where the inches are coming off.

I suggest to everyone who is being banded try at the most to only weigh yourself once a week, on the same day, at the same time.

I know what you're going through. These last 15 pounds just don't want to come off. I spoke with my nutrionist yesterday and she told me the same thing to change up my exercise pattern. Your body gets use to the routine and it's not doing anything for you. Also, she told me that because we didn't have as much to loose the weight comes off slower. Hang in there, I know I am.

BTW our stats are almost identical! When were you banded?

I was banded Oct 7, 2009

I was banded on September 22, 2009.

I just got my 4th fill on the 18th and I've lost 3 more pounds. I was told they are getting more aggressive with the fills, since I'm getting close to my sweet spot. I hope the remainder of my pounds will come off. Good Luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
