No! I'm finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I haven't worn a bathing suit WITHOUT a t-shirt in about 13years...

NO! I have only been banded 4 months today and have lost 40 lbs. One of the best decisions I have ever made besides excepting JESUS as my personal savior and having my son. I would have never been able to get rid of 40lbs on my own. Down from size 16 pants to size 12. And down one shoe size. Had great surgeon DR Oliak in Brea, CA and a very good staff and support group. REGRETS. NO I DO NOT THINK SO.

I had surgery on a Monday about 6 weeks ago. Up on till Thursday I was like "WTH did I do". On Friday of that week I had to go to a nephew birthday party and odd as it may be that was the first day I loved my band.

It was my first day of muchies and enjoyed it after liquids for so many day.

But, I knew that if I hadn't had the band I would have eaten one plate of food before the guests arrived, one with the guests and then another after everyone left. Not to mention the cake. I did not touch any of this food and it felt good.

There are days - but I'm just 6 weeks out and the real restriction hasn't kicked in so I can eat far more than I should, but not as much as I used to, so I have lost and kept off 40 pounds. I'm trying to be optimistic that as I approach the green zone, I'll have more success.

Of course over doing it with exercise and pulling a muscle at one of my incision sites resulting in getting out of chairs and the car like an old lady is an "OMG What DID I do!?" moment!

i had my surg on 27th nov09, i started out at 308lb the first two weeks out and full of pain and gas i was like what have i done, but one morning i woke up with out any pain and i couldnt understand one day pain day after no pain. when i finally moved onto solids 6 weeks after surgery i realised that the amount i could actually eat was way, way less than i would have eaten before. i am now for the first time in my entire life 65lb lighter, i have never lost that much weight ever. i love my band, although at the minute my restriction has gone again which i am told is because i have lost fat from round my stomache so my band has loosened and need a fill i have never after the first initial weeks ever thought why did i do it. i would do it again in a heartbeat and have infact talked two friends into doing the very same thing, and they now love their bands too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
