New Bandster has some questions?

Recommended Posts

1. After I eat I have a tight pain in my chest right below my left breast. It just feels really tight and I don't know how to make it go away? Is this restriction or did I eat too much?

2. I was banded on the 9th, when can me and hubby "get back to business"? I asked the pre-op nurse, but she never got back with me...

Thanks!

How much are you eating and what are you eating? it could be that you ate to much or to fast or didn't chew. What phase are you on?

When your ready to get busy you'll know. Just no head stands ROFL !!!! :D

I am on the mushie stage. I had mashed potatoes for lunch. About 1/2 to 1 cup of them. Maybe they weren't mushie/runny enough? I think I am going to try and stay away from them... this happened yesterday also when I had mashed potatoes...

THANKS!!!

My daughter after 3 years post-op can still not eat mashed potatoes without getting sick, although she can eat baked potato with no problem. You just might be one that needs to say goodbye to them. :D

the mashed potatoes may be too thick...I think you are right. Can you do small bites of yogurt with no problem? Get the potatoes to yogurt consistency and you may be okay.

As for you and hubby...go to town! You'll know. If it's uncomfortable, don't go there. For me and hubby, the first few times after my surgery were ahem...better for him than me...but it quickly, ah, evened out? It's all good. Have fun!

Congrats on your banding!

I am having this same pain below my left breast and have put off posting about it (out of pure laziness-how sad is that? ). I don't really have any restriction, so I can't figure it. Anybody have any idea what might be going on with us? Thank you for your help!!!

I was banded on the 7th and have had the same thing happen to me. I had my one week post-op today and I asked the nurse about it. She said that it is gas. She said that the gas is being released through a much smaller opening than before and that your body is still adjusting.

Mine is happening at times when I'm not eating so this made sense to me. I guess we just have to remember, "This too shall pass."

Talked to a gal that was banded in September and she had this horrible gas pain also! She said to walk around and take your Gas X... so far, no pains today.

Thanks for all the help!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
