Getting back on track?

Recommended Posts

Well I too am glad that this was posted...I have failed the band as too. I was banded almost 2yrs ago and still have not been able to change my eating habits in my head. I don't think that I have ever reached my "sweet spot" even though I was told I should have. I too have been eating way too many things that go down easy. After reading these posts I have decided to make an appointment to see my doctor and give it another try.

I'm 3 years out and recently had to have all the liquid removed because I couldn't keep anything down. I can't believe how easy it is to go back to the old ways. I've lost 70 pounds over the 3 years and promptly put 10 back on. I had a fill 2 weeks ago (only 1/2 of what they took out) and was told I needed to wait 4 more weeks to get another. I'm still eating way beyond what I should be. Obsessing with food from the minute I wake until I go to sleep at night. I feel sooooo good about myself and am ecstatic about being able to go into any store to buy clothes - not just Lane Bryant - so why am I doing this to myself again?

I saw my Dr yesterday. He assured me I have not failed, but "refining" my ability to use the lapband. I lost 1# in 6 weeks! He added .5cc and now it seems I can't eat anything! (Well, maybe I will loose some weight!) My oatmeal got stuck today! So I struggled and chewed. Most things got stuck. I probably got 1/2 cup of food down. Hard day! Going on vacation next week. Maybe I will loose some weight!

Let's hang in there and REFINE our skills!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
