Recommended Posts

Hello all. today is my 1 month since surgery date. I am feeling great and looking forward to my first fill on Wednesday this week. Hope everyone is doing well and I am looking forward to keeping up with this group going forward. I will do my best to keep posting on this thread and hope everyone else will as well. Nice to meet you all and good luck to all with this journey.

My surgery was 3-25 so I am not even 2 weeks out yet, but I am excited for you about your fill. My surgery seems a long time ago! I have been back at work for over a week and feel pretty "normal" (exept that I am still on liquids!) I feel great and don't have any issues with eating (don't think I have any restriction at all!) FIrst follow up apt is Friday so we will see where it goes from that.

Be sure and post after your fill and let us know how it is!

I was banded on 3/11. I will go for my 1st fill on Monday. I feel as if I am not restricted. I can eat almost anything. Has this happened to anyone else? Good luck on your fill.

I was banded on March 8 and have had 2 fills so far. I didn't notice any restriction with the first fill of 3cc but the 2nd fill of 2cc I do feel some restriction. I go back on May 20 for my 3rd fill.

I go for my second fill a week from today. I've had very little restriction if any since my first fill. I lost a few pounds the days following the first fill but havent lost any since. My dietician says this is completely normal and to try and just maintain. Once I have restriction is when I will start to see the changes occur. To say I am impatient awaiting this feeling would be an understatement. I am trying my best but as the dietician says during this unrestricted time, try not to eat the cabinet doors. LOL. Hopefully fill #2 will help. Dr. says 3-5 fills before the sweet spot is found. We'll have to see.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
