Pre-op diet...COUNTING THE Minutes

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow is my surgery day. If I thought the full liquid diet was hard, this clear liquid diet is torture and makes full liquids seem like a breeze!!! At least I don't think I ever have to do clears again, or I hope not.

All I have eaten today is 3 sugar free jellos, a cup of apple juice and some diet snapple. I tried the unjury chicken Soup and nearly vomitted....it was seriously horrible!

Has anyone else gone into the surgery so hungry that they were sure they'd wake up and instantly want something to eat? At this point, even a Protein Shake sounds delicious.:blushing:

Its OK, it will be easier than you think, think positive thoughts! " When I go to the hospital, I am going to go to sleep, get my band, wake up and feel fine, then I am going to get up and walk around for the nurse, drink my Water so they see everything is OK and then I am going to go home with my new friend, the band. Everything is going to go great! I will just be a little sore, nothing I cant deal with" You can do it! We will wait for you here, see you tonight!:blushing:

You'll be fine - and you'll be back on full liquids before you know it! Please update us when you get back from surgery to let us know you're ok!

I had sinus surgery in December and went many hours without eating before the surgery. I thought I'd be starving, but I wasn't. I guess my body had better things to worry about! From what my doctor tells me, you won't be hungry for a while after this surgery.

My pre-op diet includes real food, just small quantities of it. I'm so thankful for that! My doctor requires me to stay on a liquid diet for two weeks after the surgery. Then it's two weeks of mushy liquids.< /p>

I didn't like the chicken-flavored unjury either. Bleh! The unflavored stuff is decent with some Crystal Light.

The clear liquid diet was probably the hardest part of this whole journey! I feel your pain! My doctor let me have Protein Shakes during Clear Liquids though. . are you 100% sure yours doesn't?

Sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery and lots of success! BTW, take before pictures and your measurements right away if you haven't already! You are going to want them later. :frown:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
