Any Kansas City bandsters???????

Recommended Posts

I went for my fill Thursday 9/9/10 with Dr. Hitchcock and I totally agree with ladykcusa with regards to the fills. Last month I only received 1cc this time 2cc's other times .5cc's. Now have 4.8 cc's in a 10 cc band. Dr. Hitchcock is going really slow with me as I have a control issue with my body, I start crying. I cannot handle vomiting, even though I have at various times throughout my life, but not many. So I think he is taking my fills very slow. Also, he doesn't want me to get too restricted as will be flying to Germany in two months and he doesn't want me to have a stuck issue while in the air or in a foreign country. So "we" are going very slow. So totally agree with ladykcusa about the individual and dr.

Now for the weekend. Go "TIGERS", Go "WILDCATS", and that bird better gets some feathers back.

To you all, have a wonderful weekend.

PrairieD -- how long after surgery b/f you could hold your little one? I have a 2.5 year old. I don't really have to hold her much. She can walk, get in the car, out of the car, etc., but I was wondering.

I'm going to schedule my surgery with Dr. Hoehn soon. Can't wait!

Toto - That was the hardest part - my son wasn't walking yet so I had to rely on my husband or mom to pick him up for 3 weeks! I held him while sitting (on floor, chair, in bed, etc) since the day of surgery. I just always made sure to protect my port for any kicks. Dr. Kowalski (my surgeon who is Dr. Hoehn's partner) said that this issue is bending over and picking up things over 20 lbs. So I always squat to pick him up.

I remember thinking it would be impossible to go for 3 weeks and not pick him up. It really wasn't - we could still snuggle and he finally learned to walk!! :(

I had my third fill on Monday (09/13). So far I feel tight...but don't want to let my body get into that starvation mode.

I was totally surprised that I had lost over 5 pounds in two weeks...really, really surprised. But it is football season and life is super busy right now.

I'm a serious walker and will lift weights easily. Now I need to do more toning work. More stretching will be added my my daily routine...like when I get up in the morning.

Any new changes?

KS - congrats on the 5 lbs! That is great.

I think I'm going to call the Dr. and get my 2nd fill moved up. I don't seem to have any restriction - heck, I can still guzzle drinks! I'm still losing though, but, it is due to willpower. That has never lasted for long though...

Ks - syx - congrats - keep it up.

Prairie Dawn - go slow and be patient. This will happen and will work for you.

I had a weekend of pure fun. KSU football, Royals baseball, Bikers for Babies and Renaissance Festival.

With all that going on, I didn't eat hardly at all and I'm paying the price for it now with the loud noices coming from my body. It's been so bad at times that I can hear the sounds even when I have my headphones on.

Now I'm off to see a pre-screening of the new Wall Street movie.

How are all of you doing?? Anything wonderful going on? What did you do over the weekend?

Hey there everyone!!! For some reason I have not been receiving the emails to alert me of posts . Oh well, I wanted to ask, I have been having a few issues since my last fill I don't know if I am too tight or if the band is working like it is supposed to. I can keep down most things but I have had more vomiting than ever before (3 or 4 times in the last two weeks) and sometimes I will sit down to a meal and only two or three bites into it and I am done (and I am chewing very well, and absolutely no drinking) then other days it is better, still not eating much at all but maybe 3/4 cup of food a meal (guessing). As far as weight loss goes I have lost 13lbs in less than two weeks, which I love but I want to make sure I am doing it the right way. I see Dr. Malley on Wednesday so of course I will talk to him but I wanted to hear everyone's input here.

Have a great day!!

ks - sounds like a delightful weekend. However, you need to eat. May have to carry Protein bars or shakes to have while you are out.

Tiger - good that you will see your doctor soon and let him guide you. He's the expert.

Just an update....went to see the good doctor today and basically he said I was doing just fine, didn't add anymore fill today (thank goodness). Doctor said I was just figuring everything out and what I was experienceing was normal, just to take smaller bites and eat slower. I was happy to see the 11 pounds gone in two weeks!!!

Keep up the good work...and remember to take care of yourself.

As a busy mom...I know it's easy to take care of everyone else. You're working hard...so reward yourself!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
