I'm having lap-band® surgery on 3/22/10. Anyone else getting a band in March?

I had my surgery yesterday. I am sore and tired but doing good.

Surgery March 17th, I start my pre-op diet tomorrow and I am extremely exited.

I just got home from surgery. Absolutely no pain at all and I am not sore either.

Gas is causing a little discomfort but that's it.

Hello,

I am scheduled for March 10. I will keep everyone updated with my progress post surgery. My prayers are with all of you.

March 31st!

I am very excited and very anxious to get it done and start my new life!!

As a side note, has anyone else actually gained weight prior to surgery? I have gotten heaver since I had my first consult with my surgeon on 12/22. I have several explanations for this, but am wondering if there are any other bandsters who have experienced the same thing.

I notice the majority of you have lost weight since you're initial consult with your surgeon - and I feel like I am the only one who has gained weight.

Just got my date today: March 23. I have to admit, finalizing that date gave me a lump in my throat. I'm more than a little nervous.

I have to start the medifast diet on Tuesday, and I'm a lot nervous about that.

.

I've put on a couple pounds. I think it's because I have the excuse of, "I'll never be able to eat that or like that after I get the band, I should do it now!"

I'm March 19

I am scheduled for surgery on March 17th. I'm excited but scared at the same time. My life will change forever, but I know it will be for the best.

March 19th for me. Having to travel for the surgery, so nervous about the post-op. And excited, of course!

Welcome aboard dk and Sharon.

Thanks for the welcome. As I said in an earlier post, I'm scheduled to be banded on March 17th. My surgeon does not require I be on a preop diet except for the day before which will be a clear liquid diet. So, I have been eating like crazy thinking this is my last chance to eat what I want. I've gained an additional 8 lbs in the last week! Should I be worried? Am I making a mistake? Someone help me.

I wouldn't be worried but "Last Supper Syndrome" is self-destructive. It is just more weight you will have to lose. I'd try to put an end to it.

Keep a positive attitude and look forward to your new life. Don't think about what you won't be eating. Chances are you'll be able to eat anything you want.

I had a 3 week pre-op diet and I think it helped prepare me for post-op when I really can't eat solid food.

Hi! My surgery date is March 16. I have finished my first week of pre-op diet..it was hard the first few days but it has gotten easier...am excited and nervous at the same time!!! I have gotten alot of info from this board..thanks!

Now, how do you get the weight loss ticker added to your message???

thanks and have a great week!

Marcia
