Banded on the 11th, just waiting to get through the pain and the the liquid stuff never did good on liquids, but I will get through this. I am excited. I used this site to help understand what to expect. Banded in TJ. awsome doc's. Very good all the way through the whole thing.

I just got it and am still in kind of a lot of pain but I believe it will get better each day,I am looking forward to seeing the doc on monday for my first set of results.

I'm not a 2005 Nov bandster but a 2004. I just wanted to say congratulations to all who have had the band and Good luck to those who will get it this month!!

GO NOVEMBER BANDSTERS!!!

Next Saturday the 19th is my 1 year Bandiversary!! I wish I was a little farther along than I am but am glad to have the 70lbs gone forever!!! :)

I was banded Nov. 7th. Dr. Shayani in Chicago. Keep getting the support from the people here and you will do just fine.

To all those banded and Nov to be banded. I am so inspired to read all the posts, even after so long, still being and getting support.

I go in the 22 and have been stocking up on the isopure drinks, powders, chewable vitamins, calcium, fiber, and any protein drinks on the list. I had such an informative session with the nurse at the office of Dr. Billy in Ventura CA. I am in Santa Barbara, but at this time feel lucky to have someone with so many band under his belt!

Went for the GI swallow and found hiatel hernia, also gallstones with the ultrasound. Guess that's coming out! I am a self pay, due to the COE that blue cross is so strict about. The psychological visit was good for the Dr. stated he would put in the letter that I needed to be able to do post ops close by home rather than go all the way to San Francisco. At this point, though I am just so glad to be on the way. No estrogen patch for the week ahead and 1 month after. Yikes!!!!! This ought to be interesting, any thoughts or suggestions? I have had a hysterectomy, and am in later menopause.

I have a question. who out there has help on that fact that I want to eat everytihing in site, due to the fact that I won't be eating some things again maybe forever? I am rather a health nut, so it isn't really sweets, just pasta, bread, anything that I know will not be on my food list. I am ready to go by all rules" obbessive with rules, so that is good and just liquids three days before surgery. I am so ready for all afterwards, I don't care the taste, after 12 years on Dr. supervised liquid protein programs. I have gone through 4 thanksgiving and christmas etc seasons without eating solid food. But.....This week is so strange. The mind and it's dangers. I got up this morning and had an isopure for the first time. Not bad, heard my tastes may change after the band. I am hoping if I can get more if them in I won't be hungry to want to treat myself with foods that will be off limits afterwards.

So there is the story, I am trying to fill the time with reasearch and support, after finding out I am going to be a grandmother this past week, I have things to occupy my thoughts too.

Thank you all for your gift of gab with so much information!!!

D.

I was banded on Nov 7, 2005. Every thing went great! I'm still on Clear Liquids, with no hunger. I'm drinking to just keep fluids in my body, not because of hunger. I thought I might be hungry before I started this journey, because I'm only on clear liquids. But I'm not hungry at all. The only inconvenience I'm dealing with is shoulder pain. It is the worst right now and nothing helps. For those of you that have not had the surgery yet, stock up on Gas-X is all I have to suggest. Even through all the gas pains, I would do this again in a heart beat! Lost 7 pounds so far, one week out! :)

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do about the shoulder pain? I'm taking the Gas-X and a heating pad, but the pain is still pretty intense. I have had no other pain or problem other than this shoulder pain.

My surgery date is Nov.16th. Will join ya'll soon. I'll be glad when it's behind me. Good luck to all of you on your journey.

I was banded on the 8th. Still pretty sore at the port site but I make myself walk and work it out. I get to go on full liquids tomarrow hopefully the dr lets me. Then only 3 weeks of that then to mushies, yeah!! My dr is very strict on the liquid diet thing. But I'm down 23 lbs in 2 weeks.

Good luck to everyone!
