I was banded in the UK last Wednesday. It's still a relatively new procedure here - only about 4,000 people in the whole UK this year - so no support groups or web chat. I was so pleased to find you guys!

I came home from hospital on Friday and have been told to stick to free fluids for two weeks! I had a really baaaad day yesterday - cold, aching, weepy and in pain - but I went to bed and drank fruit smoothies let down with skimmed milk and felt better. I think I wasn't eating enough!

I am sure it'll be worth it but each day at a time right now. I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

.... everybody!

How are the other November bandees doing?

I was banded Tuesday, November 22nd by Dr. Avara in Ocean Springs, MS...Starving, but feeling greath otherwise...Anyone want to share ideas on tasty liquids, got a whole week to go!!

I was banded Tuesday, November 22nd by Dr. Avara in Ocean Springs, MS. Feeling great, just huuuungry!!

i was definitely not going to survive on protein drinks alone. my doc okayed me to put soup in the blender with chicken/veg stock and puree. she says that a liquid is anything you could get thru a straw. so i pureed everything from chili to chicken curry soup.

I was banded on November 11th and I wanted to wish you luck! I am very thankful I did this for myself and it is sooooo worth it!! Stay positive, follow the doctor's guidelines and lean on this wonderful group of people here.

Hello to everyone- I was banded November 9th. I'm so glad I made this decision. I cannot wait until I get a fill!

FIREWHEEL----I'm going to think of this posting and your thought proccess about eating when I want to eat something I'm not suppose to. I'm suppose to be on the straw diet (anything that will fit through a straw) and on Wednesday I can move to the mushie stage. I have eaten so far past this.....I will remember you....Thanks :)

I was banded on the 17th. I am on liquids until I can get in for my post-op check up on Dec 7th. Today is the first day that my son brought home Long John Silvers. I could have stuck the container up my nose the smell was awesome.!!!!!!

I have lost 20 lbs to day. 10 lbs on my pre-op liquid diet and 10 since I got my band.

Best of luck to everyone.

I was banded on Nov. 10 and I feel great. I'm on the soft food stage and the doc said I can now start trying different foods and see how they work. So far, no problems. I can't wait to get my first fill on Dec. 22. I've been one of the lucky ones with little discomfort during the whole process. Thirty minute surgery, home by 1:00 p.m. and eating soup that night with no problems. I've stayed on the program with nothing more than liquids for two weeks and now soft foods. Got through Thanksgiving with no problems.

I was banded on Monday, November 21st, 2005 by Dr. Trace Curry in Cincinnati Ohio. I am home drinking Clear Liquids and feeling excited and nervous at the same time. My surgery was a success, no gas problems and no pukes. YES!!

Anyone want to chat? I am not sure how this online message board works. Tips are most welcome!

Amy in Cincinnati

Hey Amy, I'm Tina in Alabama. I was banded on Nov 22nd by Dr. Avara in MS. Feeling great here, and also not sure how to use this site, could use some tips myself. Give a holler anytime you want to chat. I've just had liquids so far, some Lipton Cup-o-Soup (yum-yum), pudding and lots of Jello and Water. I've really not had a hard time at all. No pain meds at all, just some Tylenol on day 2. (I was scared to swallow the pill!!) I love to get messages and share my thoughts so gimme some feedback...
