im starting on the mushies today

its now been 2 weeks and i have lost 24 lbs

Was banded on Nov 17th - it went great! A lot easier than I anticipated. No regrets! Best of luck to you!!

I was banded without any problems on November 18th. I was out of the hospital the same night with no pain, just a bunch of weird new sensations.

The next day, my stoma swelled shut, and I was unable to keep down water. This went on over the weekend, and I ended up back in the hospital to have fluids put into me with an IV. At the same time, they put in some hydrocortisone, to control the swelling. It did the trick, and over the next few days, I was open for longer and longer periods during the day.

I learned a bunch of bandster truisms through all of this. A) Everything works better warm, :) If liquid will not go down, you are too tight.

I have to force myself to drink water and my protein beverages, with whom I have not yet made friends. Things get more regular every day, I am grateful to say.

I went from eating too much to being grateful I could sip water. Fortunately I was clear that I wanted a band before I started, so I say my "this is going to be great" mantra regularly while I adjust.

You poor thing! Puts all the niggles and discomforts I am feeling into perspective. Keep at it and it will all come good. Thinking of you.

was banded on the 8th, had some problems at 1st but so far am ok till now.

the area near the port and the biggest incision is kinda swollen and painful. Woke up on sat morn and suddenly i was in pain till i couldnt stand or walk straight. Didnt hav any fever or vomitting, the incisions r healing well.

Just got back from A & E, my doctor wasn't in so another surgeon came to c me, he said might be bcoz of the healing process, going for ultrasound this coming 12th. Hopefully everything is ok...Am very worried now

anyone been thru this?

I went to see my doctor for my first visit ,after my surgery, today and they set me up for the 8th of December for my first fill!!!!

Today is the day I go in for surgery! I can't sleep at all. Right now I am hungry and thirsty and my surgery is not until 12:30. I do not want to think about that. Sue

smile.gifI was banded by Dr. Sanchez in Mexico. Had a great experience. I am doing GREAT!! I have lost 26 lbs. I have 90 more to go. I have had no problems and I am looking forward to this wonderful journey.. I only wish I could have had this done earlier but, surgery is surgery and you are going to be sore. The gas in my chest was bad to but everyone is different. Some of the ladies I met didn't have a problem with it at all. Overall I was truley surprised at how well I have done. It didn't hurt that I got to stay overnight in the hospital either.

rolleyes.gifI would recommend this to anyone who felt the need for it and was confident in the doctor perfoming the procedure. I did my homework!!

bunny.gifI hope this helps. Have a great day and a Happy life.

I was banded on Nov. 29 and seem to be doing great! No pain, but I can really tell that I am getting full with just a little Jello or broth. I was told to get chewy vitamins and I bought gummy vitamins because I thought they would be consistency of Jello. Now I am afraid they might be too thick. Anyone tried those?

  • 2 months later...

Bumping to see how everyone is doing.

Thursday will be my 3 month anniversary and I have lost 43 pounds. I started walking 3 weeks ago and the results are great. Should have been doing this from day 1!

I hope to be 250 by this summer!!!

It will be 3 monthes for me on Sat. I have been a little slow, hoping to hit -30 by then, only 1 lb off from it. Keeping fingers crossed. I need to get busy walking.

I am frustrated. I have lost about 28 lbs and have been stuck for weeks. It doesnt matter how much I ride my exercise bike or walk on the treadmill it wont budge. Im getting a fill next Monday. I hope that helps.

it will be 3 months for me next weds

in total i have now lost about 17kg....not sure wot that is in pounds
