Are these things something you have to deal with on a daily basis forever or is this just something that happens after surgery for a short period? Please tell me it's not forver:sick as that's why I have chosen the band over the others.

I have never felt restriction with liquids. Maybe they are talking about after they move on to mushy foods.

Where in Texas are you? Have you tried Dr Benavides or Dr Fox?

Bariatric Advantage makes a vitamin specifically for lap band patients. Thats what I take. It was like 25-28 for a 3 month supply. It is chewable watermelon flavor. It's called vita band

I am too. I ordered some vitamins from Bariatric Advantage that are made specifically for band patients. They are called VitaBand. I also bought some Nioxin shampoo and conditioner on the reccommendation of my hairdresser. I hope it all helps.

I would love to know too. And if you do what all do you put in it. I did just order a Kitchenaid Food Processer as well. Im hoping it will help me.

I PBed this weekend and am having the burping/gurgling this too. Is this normal it is getting me concerned. I can eat though but very slowly.

I want to try this but because im a dummy I need help. When it says green onions is it talking about chives or just a regular onion? Also I dont like bell pepper can I just omit that?

You just have to. I rebeled with the whole 6 month diet too for over a year until I realized it was not going to happen unless I did it. So I just did it. Did I lose any weight? Not really but the whole point was that I did what the ins company required for me to do and I got approval. You can do it! It sucks to have to wait but in the long scheme of things it's only 6 months and it passes really quickly.

Did anyone else get a survey from Inamed about Lap- Band kits? I thought it was a neat idea. They have one for pre-op, post-op, plateau with things to help.

Ok so I have been drinking this three times a day now since tuesday and its nasty:guess I have tried putting berries in it and its tolerable but still yuk. Does anyone know how to make this better?

I have been struggeling with my last fill for a month. I called the office about two weeks ago and told them and they thought maybe I needed to jsut get used to it. Finally today I called and insisted that I was too tight. They took me in and had me to a swallow and low and behold they said I was too tight. I think fills are such an individual thing. If you think something is not right go with your gut and have it checked. I have really been through it the last month not knowing from day to day meal to meal if I would be able to eat or not.

I have a great quiche recipe but it is not low fat. You could probably modify it if you are creative that way.

I dont know. I find my restriction/ hunger seems to change daily.

I will be 6 months soon and am where you are too. I have been actually feeling a little frustrated by after reading this it seems like 40lbs is about the norm for all of us. That makes me feel better.

There is a lady over at obesityhelp.com in the lapband forum that got kinked or vapor locked as they ended up calling it while getting filled. She had to have surgery immediatly because they couldnt get the fill needle out. You may wonder over there and see if you can find her. Good Luck and I hope they can figure this out for you. Andrea

I dont think that she was voted off because she was fat. She did not do a great job with that Shania Twain song on Tuesday. The week before she sang a churchy/gospel type song which could have lost her a lot of votes. I am sure she will go on to be sucessful she is very talented and beautiful.

I had something similar recently. I had a fill on a Monday stayed on liquids 3 days mushies 3 days. The first bite of solid food I ate after this fill got stuck and it was over for me. I could not get anything down thicker than water or I would be sick and start the whole pb experience again. Went to the fill center had a swallow and they told me I was slipped and I could see something was wrong my pics were different than the ones the previous Monday. They did a complete unfill and then I was on liquids for a week and mushies a week and then another barium swallow. All appeared well and they put a small fill in. Even though they told me I was slipped my dr has decided that I was just really dialated from that eposode and not truely slipped. I was really in my own personal hell waiting those two weeks to know what would happen and if I would be ok. I was only 3 months out when this happened. Its hard but really dont eat for a while to the liquids and see where it takes you.

I am in Dallas work for GE Healthcare and paid a 25.00 copay for mine. However getting Cigna to approve it was its own nightmare.

You should go check it out. Im slipped after a too tight fill last Monday and the first piece of solid food I ate last weekend did it. I was unfilled this Monday. Be careful ladies.

I'm down 33lbs. Unfortuanatly for me my last fill on 02/13 last Monday was too tight and I might have a slip. I got stuck on the first real piece of food I ate after being on liquids and mushies on Saturday and PB'd all weekend, couldnt even get water down at some points. They are not sure if it was a slip or dialation. All of my fill was taken out Monday 02/20 and i'm on liquids for 7 days then mushies for 7 days and then another barium swallow. Im pretty devistated over this. They told me it was just a bump in the road and that since I did not allow this to go on they thought it would be ok. So , say a little prayer for me that it turns out ok.

Laura I could have written your post. And it seems the more weight I lose( not that ive lost much) the more he wants to get closer to me. Right now I am just not feeling it.

I used Dr B too and he is great! My coworker is being banded by him March 1st.
