  1. I have endometriosis and was wondering if I can still get the band. I am just starting my research into the lap band. Can anyone recomend a surgon in Washington State? I think my insurance will cover after reading the policy but if I am self pay what has everyone been paying in the states?? Thanks for the input!!
  2. I have a 4.4 band and the most it can hold is 4cc. I was banded 3 years ago and I just had a adjustment and I am at 3.5 so honestly it really depends on the person. I haven't had an adjustment for over a year and I needed a kick start so I had a tweek of .2cc, yep just a little one. Hang in there, you will find your spot!!

    Port Pain

I have been banded now for 2 weeks and I have pain around my port incision. This may sound crazy but I was shaving my legs and when I was bent over I think I pinched my port between my fat roll and I got a horid sharp pain and it hasn't gone away for 3 days now. The pain is just below and to the right of the incision. It hurts to laugh and to get in and out of the car. Is it possible I ripped a muscle or popped a stitch? How long did everyone elses pain last?

    Looking for November 2005 Banders!

I was banded on the 8th. Still pretty sore at the port site but I make myself walk and work it out. I get to go on full liquids tomarrow hopefully the dr lets me. Then only 3 weeks of that then to mushies, yeah!! My dr is very strict on the liquid diet thing. But I'm down 23 lbs in 2 weeks. Good luck to everyone!

    Banded on Tuesday

I too was banded on tues the 8th. I just can't believe how sore I am at my port. I am getting around better though. My nurse said that I need to drink 60 oz of water a day to avoid dehydryation. I am trying really hard but am only getting about 50 oz. I try to drink out of the little 1oz glasses they had at the hospital for me and set them up 10 at a time. At times I feel like I am drowning. How are you doing on the other things like broth? Take care and I'm thinking of you.

    Liquid Diet-help!!!

Lucky for my blood pressureis really low and I don't have to watch salt content as close as others. Last week at the Dr it was 99 over 62 so I think that salt is keeping me alive. I will have to be on the liquids for a total of 5 weeks and it will be a huge stuggle but like everyone is saying it is worth it. So hang in there.

    Liquid Diet-help!!!

My doctor also is making me go on a liquid diet a week before my surgery and 3-4 weeks after. I am going on day 3 and yes it is hard. But think of it this way, how would you feel if your doctor said how did you do on your liquid diet and you were to say i just couldn't do it and your surgery was canceled? I can handle the rumble in the tummy for the light at the end of the tunnel. My one cheat is that I do suck on hard candy every now and then. I have found the flavored packets out of top ramen help give a variety. Just hang in there and this week go by so fast you won't even realize it.

    Gall Bladder Problems

I have been having a horrid pain under my right shoulder blade and today my PCP said it could very well be my gall bladder. Did anyone have theirs removed at the same time they got their band? Any info will help.
  9. Help, this is just crazy. I am eating everything I can get my hands on. I got my date and it is a little over a month away and I must have nerves and I am eating like crazy. Has anyone esle had this problem? I just have this mind set that I need to eat at all of my favorite restrants because I won't be able to after the band. Any words of advice??

    Any one in NW WA

This morning I called and scheduled my surgery and I am getting banded on Nov 8, horray!! Later that day Tina from the dr's office called and said I was approved from my insurance!! What a great day, as of this morning I was going to have to finance my surgery. Who would of thought my part time job at Home depot would cover this and not my full time insurance. But I'll take where I can get it.

    United Health Care

Does anyone have UHC through The Home Depot? At my full time job I have Aetna and they denied me. So the dr's office is going to try my part time job's insurance which is UHC. I hope that they pitch in something. Thanks

Even if you are a self pay...

Capital one has financing for lap bands. It is under the cosmetic surgery section. You can finance up to 5 years. Michelle

    endometriosis and the lap band

Last year when I had surgery to clean out the endometriosis it was on my bladder, bowels and on my stomach. Endo travels fast when it has taken the ovaries and tubes already.

    OT - Proactiv

I have used it for a couple of years and love it. I only buy the deep cleaning cleanser and toner. I stopped buying it from Proactiv direct and buy if off of ebay. It is usually the same price or a little cheaper plus they don't keep charging your credit card and sending it to you. If you do go with them, they will space out your shipments for as long as you want.
