Last minute doubts?

Recommended Posts

I just can't believe it's 7 days away! I'm not really scared about the surgery, I"m scared about after. Am I really ready for this? If I'm asking myself this question then I must not be, right? But I've read so much and I think I know quite a bit but am I really ready? I want to make a life change becuase I want to be healthy. I want to be more active! I want to look at picture of myself with out being disgusted with how big I am.

Is this normal? These questions and doubts? I'm totally excited too but I can't help but have that flutter in my stomach that is afraid to find out what happens after the band?

Chele.....your reaction and thinking is normal. I too thought all those things and then some especially the WHY can't I do it on my own, why do I have to do something so drastic! But....there are reasons you got this far and took this path :( It wasn't an overnight decision I'm sure. You're not alone...many of us have taken that same train of thought.

Do whatever is best in your heart  Good luck!

Trust yourself and the decision you made. I had doubts too. I held on to the fact that I made my decision when I was in my right mind and not scared of the impending surgery. Even after the surgery I thought "What have I done to myself?" Now, 2 weeks later, I am thrilled I did it. I had to put the brakes on my eatting somehow and this is a great tool to assist me. I was out of control. Now I feel as though I have taken the first steps to regaining control. Good luck!

I feel the same way, you are not alone. The day after I got approved for the loan I will need to pay for my surgery, I caught myself chickening out. I thought wait I haven't tried this and that and maybe I should do this etc. I questioned myself with the same questions SherryW did. I won’t even sit here and pretend I’m 100% sure everything is going to work out, but I think that’s normal. You are making a major life changing decision of course you’re gonna freak a little, I know I am.

If it helps to know, my surgery is day after tomorrow (wed.) and I still have some doubts about making the correct decision...but in the end, I know that if I don't take this step, I will not keep my end of the bargin up. I have been down every road looking for the way to a more active lifestyle...and still have yet to find it. I think it is totally up to you to decide if you are willing to change or continue the battle. For me, I know it is just the "change" that is the biggest concern and nobody likes change...except Mr. Obama...lol. Hope we have given you some insite to help you make your decision.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
