  1. I have to take pills in the morning and at supper time. I take them with yogurt. I take my capsel apart and mix it with the yogurt and yuck but I do it every day and I have a pill crusher for the rest of them and put them in the yogurt. It has worked for me since Dec 31st when I had my surgery. I did get a fill that was too much and could not take my meds the one night because I could not even get a shake down me without it coming back up but that was my fault, I talked the doctor into giving me too much. I won't do that again. 24 hours after the fill I tighten right up, I guess I was swollen. I was told after a fill it does get tighter but then will get looser. I am trying to find my sweet spot also, I am at 5.5 cc. I am hoping 6 will be it. I go again next week for another fill. Good luck in finding your sweet spot. Judy
  2. So happy for you. I am only down 56lbs but I can climb the stairs from the lake to the cottage much better than my skinny neighbor. What a great feeling.
  3. I hope you don't eat too much and get that awful full/stuck feeling. I wish you the best. Judy

Yeah for you Amy but so sorry about leaning over the sink. That part is tough but we all go thru it because we just have to have that last bite and then your too full. Our surgery dates are one day apart and I am down 55lbs and lots more to go and when that person that you have not seenin a while says ....wow, you have lost weight, you look good..........yep, it is worth it. And when you can bend over just to cut your toe nails, yep it is worth it....and so on and on and on. This week was the first week that I did not loose a any weight but that is ok, I will work harder for the next weigh in day.......Fridays. I have 5.5cc and I think I am at my sweet spot because I have lots of restriction. I eat yogurt first thing in the morning and I have to eat it slow because it gurgles on the way down. My husband says I sound like a clogged drain. It does make lots of noise....LOL Have a good day and think skinny and yes it is worth it. Judy
  5. Yes the pain is awful and yes you say you won't do it again. Been there, done that. And then all of sudden you realize oh no, I took one too many bites. But I am finding out that you get the feeling of the too many bites a lot sooner as the time goes on and you will stop and throw the rest of it away. I never threw food away before but I am learning to put less on my plate to begin with. Taking time but learning how this band works. I love my band. I love my new tool. Just have to learn the correct way to use it and it does take time. Good luck to you. Judy
  6. It sounds like a clogged drain per my husband. Burping gives me relief. I get it after a fill and sometimes when I eat too much. My surgery was Dec 31st and I still get that feeling. I always tell my husband it is some more fat getting ready to leave my body. 55 lbs down, doing about 1lb a week so on Friday, tomorrow, hope I can say 56 pounds down. Judy
  7. Those fills do get easier and yes, you are young. Enjoy that new body that you will be getting. I am old but had a man friend ask me yesterday if I was loosing weight and made me so proud to say yep but have long ways to go and we left it at that. Just the thought of him noticing was great. I have not told many people that I have the band so when a person notices, I feel great. Now, go have some soup and learn to love it. It is good for you. LOL...sounding like a mother now. Judy
  8. What a nice post and so uplifting. My 6 months will be June 30th and yes our band is a tool. I am 5.5 cc in 10 cc band and I am too hoping I am getting to my green zone. I am loosing 1 lb a week which I am happy with. I told the doctor I wanted to have 6 cc in my band and he asked me why......told him it was a round number. He laughed and said we just have to get you to your green zone and going to do it slowly so I don't have to have an unfill. Hate it when the doctor knows what he is talking about. Keep up the good work, Judy
  9. Congrats to you and hoping I will be in a 14 also. I can squeeze in a 16 but won't go out in public with them on but hoping it won't be long. I love my band also but like I have posted before, it is not the easy way out. You must work with your band and listen to it. I typed that for others to read it because I know you KNOW how it works. I am so proud of you and tell your husband he is a lucky man to have you. Congrats again to you, Judy Strut you stuff all summer long!!!!!

I loved your blog and you are younger than I am. I have yo yo'd dieted for years and the most weight I ever lost was 30lbs on my own and then I would gain back 40lbs. Well, now that I have my band I am down 56 lbs as this morning and I feel great and plan on keep going. I did not tell very many people that I had the surgery because I did not want to hear you took the easy way out. But if they knew what I had to do to just get the band and now to make sure I get nothing stuck, it is NOT the easy way out. I have over eaten and laid in bed drooling out my spit because I can't swallow it, I did not take the easy way out. So right now I am just start getting the looks and people saying, wow, you lost weight and I just say, yep, a few pounds and keep it at that. Never say how much I have lost. If someone is bold enough to ask, I just say I am not at my goal yet. It is nice that my husband is loosing weight too because we are both eating different, like turkey burgers, broiled fish, etc so people just think we are both on diets. 56lbs, I can see my knees when I sit down now. Small thing but to a fat person it is a big thing. So good luck to you and keep those blogs coming on how well you are doing. Judy

Nice story and proud of you to get back on track. 35 years old, you are too young to have fat hold you back from enjoying your life. Use your band as a tool by thinking I can not have that, my band won't like it and then don't eat that junk food and go get something your band will like. Good luck from a lady that is old and loves her band, Judy
  12. Yeah for you, having the date will make more real for you. Just remember it is a tool for you to loose weight and you do have to watch what you eat and how much. I am so happy for you that you finally have your date. Judy

60 lbs..........you are 5 pounds up on me. Had surgery day after yours. Best thing I ever did. I have never lost so much weight on any diet I have ever been on. Tool is the word for this band. It is not the easy way out like some people think but it sure does help. Congrats to you and don't it feel great when your underwear is too big for ya???? Judy
  14. Last time I went to my heart doctor my blood was too low also and he reduced my meds also. Great feelling, isin't it? I have been on meds for irregular heart beats since I was in my 20's and I am going to be 60 this year. Just take your meds and you will be fine. Just thought I would write and tell you some upbeat news. Judy
  15. I had my surgery on the 31st of Dec and still feel safer with soft foods. I do not miss the bread and big junks of foods. I do eat lots of soup with multi grain saltine crackers. I do NOT like that stuck feeling and it hurts. I have found, even eating yogurt , that when I get the full feeling I stop eating. I am learning to put only a spoonful of food on my plate otherwise I end up throwing away food. That fat girl is still in me thinking I must put lots of food on my plate. I am down 55 lbs and I am a lot older than you. I love my protein shakes so much better than a big breakfast. They seem to satisfy me in the morning. OH, I do have to have a yogurt first thing to take my meds with ............so really in the am I do have yogurt and a shake. Good luck to you and you will find that your band is really your best friend. Judy
  16. Turkery burger is better for ya and it really does taste good.
  17. OH great. I was just banded Dec 31st and will be 60 this year and want to loose 100 lbs or more if possible. I hope you get some answers from your blog. It will be interesting. Judy
  18. I had to go for an unfill and he took 8 cc's to punish me for taking a whole cc. Now, I am hungry a lot so I am going back next Monday to get at least 4 cc's back in. A shake in the morning is good and I wish that is all I want but I have been wanting more. Good luck to you and hope that you can still loose the weight with the unfill. We sure went thru a lot just to get banded. Please don't take offense to this. Just wanted you to think about it. Judy
  19. Yeah for you. 7.7 cc. I was 5.9 and had to get some let out because I could not even swallow my spit. I want to get to 6 and hoping that will be my sweet spot and not have to get anymore. Had my surgery on Dec 31st and down 55 lbs and feel great. Happy for you on your new size of clothing. I have not bought any new bra's yet but those darn things are fallen out when I raise my arms up so I better get to the store. I am old and gravity does work here on earth.......LOL Have a great day and think skinny, Judy
  20. I was banded 31st of Dec and yes, you do eat a lot less. I was throwing away food because I put too much on my plate which was hard to do because this fat girl had in her mind to eat everything on her plate. It took a while but I am finally just putting a spoonful of food on my plate and when it is gone, I am full. Down 55 lbs and I do not belong to the gym yet because of a bad foot at the moment. When I get exercising I am hoping to loose a lot more but I am happy with a pound a week right now. Eating too fast and that stuck feeling is very painful. First time it happened to me I thought I should go to the ER because it was such a different feeling but you get to know when it is going to happen and know enough to stop eating and get up and walk. Good luck to you and think skinny, Judy

150's wow, I have a long ways to go but I am going to ge there somehow. Just banded on Dec 31st and yes, I would like hear more about your journey also. Judy
  22. Good luck to you and yes, you will be excited to loose that weight again but this time it will stay off...........right???? I give you a lot of credit starting over again after all that stress. Stress does the same thing to me, I want to eat and eat. Again, good luck to you. Judy
  23. So sorry regarding your Grandma but congrats that the food did not win. Funny how our band is making our minds think different. Death of a family member or friend is the worst stress there is but there are many other stressful things we go thru and food was always comfort for me but not anymore. Your doing good, keep up the good work.
  24. So happy for you and when those clothes start getting too big, that is another great, wonderful feeling. My new pants, just one size smaller are getting to big for me which is cool but not cool for the pocketboook.
  25. Congrats to you on your journey. I feel bad about the gas pains, I did not get any of that. When the hunger pains come, just remember to eat a little bit and you will be surprised how fast you fill up. My band is working really good for me except for last week when I talked the doctor into give me a full cc and had to go back the next day and had some taken out. But that is in the future for you but keep that in mind. Good Luck to you. Judy
