Week 4 Solid Foods

In the past week I have only lost 4 pounds. I now weigh 350.2. Solid foods are a bit more difficult than I expected. When I eat solids I chew till there isn't much left but even than I still get the pain in between my shoulder blades and I have to stop eating. I am not getting much food down. I find myself sticking to mushy foods because they give me more comfort. Tuna salad, egg salad. meat sauce, cottage cheese , applesauce and shakes are about the only things I feel comfortable eating. A friend told me I should try eating lunch meats because they are already sliced thin. I think I am going to try this approach. My new goal is to lose 10 pounds before June 4th. with 17 days I think that is a managable goal.

I had my surgery on the 31st of Dec and still feel safer with soft foods. I do not miss the bread and big junks of foods. I do eat lots of soup with multi grain saltine crackers. I do NOT like that stuck feeling and it hurts. I have found, even eating yogurt , that when I get the full feeling I stop eating. I am learning to put only a spoonful of food on my plate otherwise I end up throwing away food. That fat girl is still in me thinking I must put lots of food on my plate. I am down 55 lbs and I am a lot older than you. I love my protein shakes so much better than a big breakfast. They seem to satisfy me in the morning. OH, I do have to have a yogurt first thing to take my meds with ............so really in the am I do have yogurt and a shake. Good luck to you and you will find that your band is really your best friend.

Keep up the good work. 4lbs is awesome.

Im learing to take it slow. Im able to eat a lot No veggies though b/c of the gas.

I was banded on 4/20 and cant wait for a fill. I find myself able to eat alot more then I expected.

Everyone is telling me that will change after my first fill.

And like Judy said I need to get rid of that fat girl inside of me. My head was and still is stronger then my stomach. Im Italian and was brought up with eat everything and a Beautiful Grandma who said and still does (shes 90) here have more.

At time I crave things and so want them but then think of the dissapointment I will feel.

Good luck

Do what makes you feel comfortable. Four pound loss that is great. That is a sack of sugar when you think of it :)
