Deep Gurgling and Burping

The last few days my stomach has been roaring and rumbling. I am eating like I normally do and I don't feel hungry but these are so deep and loud at least to me. I can't imagine what this annoying feeling can be. It doesn't hurt it jsut rocks my core sometimes. Week 4 Solid Foods

In the past week I have only lost 4 pounds. I now weigh 350.2. Solid foods are a bit more difficult than I expected. When I eat solids I chew till there isn't much left but even than I still get the pain in between my shoulder blades and I have to stop eating. I am not getting much food down. I find myself sticking to mushy foods because they give me more comfort. Tuna salad, egg salad. meat sauce, cottage cheese , applesauce and shakes are about the only things I feel comfortable eating. One day from Graduation

Ok so I weight in this morning at 350.2 I have only lost 0.4 pounds in a week. I think that starting the mushies has slowed down my weight loss. I am still only able to eat a small amount but its definately more than I was eating on the first 2 stages of this diet. Goal Weight for Graduation

I graduate college with an Associates Degree on Friday. My goal is to be under 350 before I graduate. I weigh 350.6 now so I think in a week I can even exceed my goal. I haven't been under 350 since my son was born 3 years ago. In the course of a month I have lost all the weight I gained after my baby was born. It's a big step and I am really happy. A lot of people are noticiing the changes in my clothes.

Week 2 Post Op Diet and Updates

To date I have lost 35 pounds. I weight 354 and I am feeling much better. I still have some minor pain in the belly area but nothing major. My steri strips still haven't fallin off so that concerns me a little. I called yesterday to get a appointment for my first fill. I will go on May 25th. Surgery Went Well

Ok I am not going to lie. After the surgery I was miserable nauseaous and in pain. But the next day I felt great I a still not drinking much. Sipping on water all day. Able to get at least one protein shake down in a day. 4 tbsp of sugar free jello and some broth with protein powder. I feel pretty good today 4 days after surgery. The worst is past me. Days 14, 15 and 16 of Pre-Op Diet

I have been very good the last three days. Drinking my shakes and eating what I am supposed to for the most part. Today I called my patient advocate Rachel to get some details on my surgery for May 2nd. Insurance is covering the surgery and I pay $5500.00 which is 24 payments of $260.00 every month starting in June for the next 2 years. And guess what they had a opening for this Monday . So surgerygot moved up a week and it is going to be in 4 days. I am so excited. I lost 14.6 pds since April

Days 11,12,and 13 of Pre-Op Diet

Ok so this weekend was crazy. I made some bad choices when it comes to food. We were running everywhere and I lost my train of thought. I am not even going to say what I ate because its to embarassing. I just weight in today and I gained a pound. I am feeling really down right now and I can't even bring myself to talk about it. 2 weeks until surgery I hope I can make my goal.

Day 10 Pre-op Diet

Yesterday I was so not interested in my shakes. I only drank half for breakfast and half for lunch. Needless to say I was starving yesterday afternoon. I cooked a whole chicken in the crockpot all day and it was calling my name when I got home. LOL Well I had 6oz of breast meat and 1 cup of chicken stuffing. It was pretty filling. Last night I was feeling very empty so I had a small bowl of mini wheats and 2% milk. I went a little over my calories. But my carbs were high becasue of the stuffing.

Day 9 of Pre -Op Diet

These shakes are getting so gross. But I did well yesterday. Dinner was 4oz of Ground Sirlion, steamed green beans, 1/2 scalloped potatoes. I had a small dairy queen dipped cone for snack last night and man did I pay for that. Just the ice cream not the cone. I was still within my calorie range and yesterday I weight in at 379.4. Yesterday went awesome. I got out walking a few times yesterday. Had my shakes for breakfast and lunch. Drink lots of water. Dinner was 6 oz chicken breast, steamed veggies, and a little rice. Another Bad Day. I was doing good all day had my shakes for breakfst and lunch. Walked to work. Had 2 hard boiled eggs for snack in between shakes. Had leftover turkey breast with some salsa. OK yesterday was a bad day. I woke up at 8:45am had my shake was feeling really good. Then my husband and his family wanted to go to breakfast at IHOP. I ate too much and I had 2 cupcakes at a Easter party last night. Dinner was shells and cheese with a hot dog and french fries. I am so disappointed with myself. Woke up around 8:45am had my shake got ready for the day. we went to a local parade. Went to the mall to walk around. Went to GNC and picked up more shakes. This morning it was muggy outside so I talked myself into not walking to work. It didn't help that I started my monthly friend and I am feeling crappy. I am having my shake for breakfast. I had a good day today. Noticed I had some extra energy. Had my protein shake for Breakfast and lunch. I was really hungry around dinner time but I fought most temptations. I chose EAS Advant Edge Carb Control protein shakes because they have 17g of 2g of net carbs and 0g of sugar. My diet is going to be 2 shakes and a 1 small meal a day. EGD April 4th 2011

I need an EGD to see if I have a hiatal hernia which can be repaired during the lapband surgery. An EGD is where they put you to sleep and stick a tube with a tiny camera down your throat into your stomach to take pictures. My EGD appointment went fantastic. I have OSA or Obstructive sleep apnea and I was asked to bring my CPAP machine but was told when I got there that they don't use it unless they need it. Procedure only takes 10 minutes.
