Its hard, I know. There are days where I wake up feeling 60 (I'm not!) and 300 lbs (I'm not!). I feel like its just part of the program -- some days are just simply better than others. There is some great peppermint foot cream by Bath and Body Works. When I'm feeling tired and my feet ache I massage that in at night and put some little footies over. Smoother feet and feel so good! I'm with you all the way! Hope you feel "lighter" today!
  2. I had my second fill on 7/19. For the next week I stayed on liquids and when I strayed at all I had major issues with PBing/stuck/etc. Starting about Friday of last week no longer felt any restriction. Hungry about every 2-3 hours and although I never ate more than 1 C of food every 3 hours I was still hungry when I was done. I do have to chew more and eat more slowly. Drink good water (70+ oz a day). Probably eat 4 meals a day? (1 is a little grazing kind of thing?) Didn't work out as much last week or the week before as I was weak and unmotivated. My next fill appointment is Friday afternoon (8/6). I think I'm getting closer, but I don't know if I should fill or flee for now. I'd like the band to work a little more at restricting amount and number of times, but I'm worried it will be too much. Here's my fills: Had 4cc in 10 cc band at surgery (5/26). First fill to 5.5cc on 6/28. Second fill to 7.25cc on 7/19. Two fears: overfilling and what happens if I get to 10cc and I'm still not getting the restriction? Its a quandry, I tell you :-) Your input is welcome and appreciated........
  3. Just put my makeup on for the day and I'm crying!!You are doing so well, you keep this picture as a reminder! And you look really good in the picture -- even though you want to look better you have to take heart in the fact that you've taken this step, you are making major changes, and that you have support around you! Your daughter is beautiful! And oh by the way, I have your shirt in hot pink............ You sound like a great mom and a great person. Enjoy this time. Your picture will change every month. Thank you for your post........... ---- Sandy ----

Go back to liquids or mushies and see if that helps. Maybe the cold is just throwing you off a little? I've read where people go in for small unfills months after the fills -- if you still have problems wednesday i'd call. I'm going in for my third fill Friday! I didn't think I needed it up till last week but now I'm wanting to have the PA consider it. Hope you feel better :-)

Turkey and chicken are good sources of protein as well. I like slices of deli turkey or chicken around string cheese or even a low fat sesame stick. My little snack in the afternoon is 1/4 can of the chicken breast, chopped up really fine with some cilantro and onion and a smidge of miracle whip, using carrot sticks or sesame sticks as dip. You get a lot of protein, a little veggy or carb, and it holds you over for a long time! The other ideas are protein shots or greek yogurt. Good luck!

You will learn significant remote thumb control -- switching from commercials that have anything remotely tasty very very very quickly! Good luck on your pre-surgury activities, stay focused! :-)

Fantastic weekend, good for you! I'm glad JAX and you are getting along so well LOL. Will you share? Hehehehe :-). Have a great night!
  8. I had a horrible experience on a plane from Dallas to Orange County over Christmas last year. Since then I'm more sensitive to looks, whispers, conversations. There was a big show on TNT or CNN about America, Overweight. This guy who is the President of Cleveland Clinic said he would not hire an obese person -- cost him too much money, not as productive. Ouch.

Your post brought back memories for me. I was never heavy (even normal weight) until I left home for good after graduating from college. I still hide food when I'm at my mom's (OK that's once a year but I did it last year). I am so sorry about your not having your family's total support, but know we will be here to support you! You have a beautiful little girl, and think about all the great things you will be doing with and for her as she grows up -- including setting a GOOD example of eating and being healthy. Technically our mother's didn't do such a great job of that. My heart is with you! Take care!
  10. You definitely don't want to use anything until the dermabond has flaked off completely, and you have approval from your surgeon to move forward. My PA recommended A&D ointment and it works great! I just use it at night so I don't smell like a diaper rash baby at work lol. In the morning I use Vitamin E from Burts Bees and I love it. I'm 9 weeks out and the four little ones are not noticeable at all. The port scar isn't bad. It doesn't really matter anyways because I'm not showing anybody my belly, its just me. LOL. Good luck!
  11. Nice! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I did a little walking this morning, but it wasn't light out yet and I got a little scared (for no good reason). Think I'll walk over to the tiny gym at the apartment and do the treadmill next time. Enjoy your day!
  12. Excellent post and excellent idea! Congratulations on your wonderful project, and good luck on the next phase! With your motivation and enthusiasm, this will be a breeze.
  13. I don't know as I'm a little later in the process, but my surgeon said the average bander loses 60-70% of their excess weight, so they must assume the rest doesn't happen? You are right, it doesn't make sense. Keep us updated? And good luck
  14. They will probably give you an elastic support band to wear for about a week after the surgery! Wear it! It helps with support as you walk. And I agree with seanamw -- walk as often as you can -- it "burns through" the gas! Best wishes to you and keep in touch............

You look absolutely fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing! Being a bander, I see everything -- your arms, your torso, your neck -- you have such noticeable changes everywhere. Congratulations again!
  16. I have fine hair anyways so I started taking herbal Biotin and using nioxin shampoo and conditioner about 2-3 weeks post surgery. I'm 9/10 weeks out now and I'm still "holding my own" on hair loss. I got the herbal liquid biotin on amazon.com. Also, I really take care to get at least 60gm of Protein and 60 oz of Water a day and take a multi Vitamin and Calcium. This is just replacing some of the Vitamins and minerals I gave up along with about 2000 calories a day of junk. Good luck to you!
  17. I forget its August! Congratulations on the jeans! You are doing fantastic, and thank you so much for the motivation! I was going to cancel my trainer this morning, but I'm jumping on your bandwagon and making this a good week and a start to a great month! Thank you!!!

Congratulations on your heartwarming changes and all of your successes. I wish you all the best as you move forward to an even healthier you!
  19. I'm still at 230, but today I went to Macy's because I have no casual pants to wear and I decided to check out the sales. I went up to the third floor at Macy's to Woman's World. My best friends work there (they are my best friends because my closet capers have paid their mortgages for years). My last jeans were 24s, so I pulled 18Ws knowing I'm close to that. I had a tearful moment in the dressing room when I pulled them on without unzipping them! One of the assistants knocked and asked if I needed anything. I opened the door and showed her the pants and she said "Honey you need to go down to Misses. We don't have anything to fit you up here.". I bought 18s. They are tight, but wearable. I'm having a moment or two today. Two months ago those 24's fit good. I packed the rest of the casual pants up to sell or give away. I AM DONE WITH LANE BRYANT. I AM DONE WITH AVENUE. I AM DONE WITH WOMAN"S WORLD. I've taken this surgery very seriously. I've worked out hard, and keep to meal plans (for the most part). I've embraced this with everything I have. Feeling better and being off blood pressure meds are one thing. But a pair of pants in Misses? PRICELESS.

Does your surgeon have any? Mine is in Brea and that drive would kill you lol. I'll check Monday with my friend who lives up there and let you know then. She had sleeve in January somewhere up there! Take care............

I like the support group aspect of it, but the rest I'm with you -- not great communication or organization. I'd schedule the fill for the earlier date and if you don't need it cancel it and leave it at the later date.
  22. Well you are doing fine! Give yourself a lot of credit -- Zumba every day?? That is a ton! A 20 to a 16 is a great accomplishment! Are you eating with the plan? Do you feel hungry a lot? I get another fill next Friday too, and I'm not at the sweet spot either but I lose at least 2 lbs a week every week. I feel like you do -- its my eating and my exercise so far. I can't wait until I'm in the sweet spot! It will be great once we get there because we've got the other components down already :-)

Congratulations on doing and feeling so well! You sound encouraged, energized and ready to keep on keepin on! I hope your walk went well and the heat remains bearable!
  24. Thank you Janet, and God Bless. I'm glad you enjoyed the visit and the peace and spirit behind it. I'm happy you took control as well, and thank you for your beautiful post. Have a great weekend...........
  25. Isn't there a rule? Like "if a tree falls in the woods and there is no one around it doesn't make noise". New rule: "if you are on vacation food has no calories". I love it!!!
