  1. Oh my! So much work and stress and you are doing so well! Congratulations on the new grandbaby and best wishes to the family! Keep up the great work -- you will make it!
  2. I'm sorry you are frustrated. It really seems like every surgeon has their own processes, procedures and rules and its hard to understand what works for you. I hope things go better!

Congratulations on your fantastic news! I agree with you totally about the energy. Pray on the children item; those things will happen. I've read many blogs on here from women having kids. Best of luck to you in your health and wellness :-). Take care!

Thank you so much for your post! So motivating! You look fantastic!!! I love the comment "I'm not in competition....." because we aren't! Its all about getting healthy and supporting each other! Congratulations; way to go!
  7. I'm at 7.25 and 3 months post-surgery. I freaked out when I didn't have restriction after my last fill and talked to the PA at length. She helped me with my eating and "waking up the pouch", chewing and waiting. I can't believe the difference. I'm actually thinking I might be a little full, but I'm close and I'm managing. But I was crying that day in the doctor's office thinking I'd never feel full and the band was doing nothing. That was around the first of August. Since then? Maybe 15 lbs down. SO IT WILL WORK!!! Keep the faith.........
  8. My daughter's visit went very well, although I was sad to see her leave. My house is so quiet without her! We really had a great weekend. Of course it started great when she walked down the stairs from the airplane gates crying "Oh mommy you look so great!". We didn't dwell on the surgery or anything food related all weekend although she noted a couple times how much more energy I have. We walked over 6 miles on Friday shopping for her. She was buying new clothes for our trip to Aruba for Christmas. I didn't buy much because I've been debating what size to buy. We ate organic and sashimi on Friday. Saturday I had family over and I really couldn't eat much as I was stressing over company and hostessing. Sunday we did church and I made a big brunch for everybody and I ate a little. We also managed to go to the gym twice as well. All in all I did well on the plan and lost 4 lbs since Thursday. I was a little disappointed in my cousin's reactions -- one actually said "you were so fat at Christmas I'm glad you are doing something about it". OK, backhanded compliment? Maybe. Back to work and a busy week. The hell I've been through with my product line over the last 8 months is almost over and I'll be swamped until after the first of the year. This is great for me in many ways and I'm grateful for that. There will still be drama and politics but I'll be too busy to worry about them. Thank you to all for your well wishes. I love my daughter dearly and I appreciate hers (and yours) support immensely
  9. Nice weekend! I'm glad you had fun and yes, you are spoiled! My daughter was visiting and she was trying to get me to DVR Weeds. As she was describing the show I was laughing so hard! It will be fun to watch and elliptical at the same time :-). Good luck on the weigh in and have a great day!

That is a lot of working. Maybe you could talk to someone face to face instead of a written document? Sometimes that goes over better? Take care of yourself. Its tough times and we don't want to negatively impact our jobs and our income, but at the same time you need to take steps to make sure you are doing well health wise as well. Anything small like walks during a break, eating right, taking stairs will all help. Good luck to you, keep us updated.

I'm glad you are feeling better! It starts to get better every day, and soon you'll wake up and forget about the gas and tummy aches. Walk and water. Congrats and take care!
  12. Congrats on the 20 and especially on your very upbeat, positive attitude! Keep up the GREAT work.
  13. Consignment shops, Clothes Exchanges, EBay. I sold 30 pairs of pants, suits, shirts and skirts. Didn't make a lot; enough to buy a couple "interim" outfits and a pair of shoes. But I felt good. The stuff I didn't sell I gave to the local abuse shelter through church. Congratulations on your success!

Are there other doctor's available under your coverage? My surgeon has performed lap band on patients with bmi of more than 55.
  17. Hard to believe its less than 4 months away already! Hanging in there; on target to meet Labor Day and Christmas Goals. Its so humbling to see how much weight I've lost and how much I have yet to lose. Keep it up everybody!!!
  18. I feel hungry between lunch and dinner as well. If I eat protein (3-4 oz) almost like a meal but with it wrapped around string cheese like deli turkey or chicken it feeds the hunger and keeps me not hungry again until about 7. I eat lunch around noon. But I can't eat dinner usually until 6 and I'm driving between 4-6 (a lot of it) and drinking water seems to make me hungrier. I make up a couple of my little treats, put them in a little cooler and carry it in the car with me from work back home and munch slowly. Finish 2 by 5. I feel much better and not apt to eat so much or so fast at dinner at 7, which is then a bit lighter than a full cup.

YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!!!! Congratulations on your success and on "finding your way" with the chewing, eating slow and the band as a whole! I've been eating with my daughter the last day and it was amazing for her to watch me: eat, exercise, energy. She noticed on several occasions that I eat differently, have more energy, and outwalked her every step of the way for more than six miles yesterday!! Yeah band! Yeah us!!!
